Higher taxes for the very wealthy is a good thing, and the US has historically done better when this was the case.

Then show us an example of this, using actual math and the IRS tax tables. Prove to us what's mathematically impossible. Tell us where this magic income point is, where tax law ceases to exist, and math turns backwards on itself. Your claim is a myth, it simply can't happen.

Side note: it is astounding and a bit sad how many people believe the tax bracket myth. I once had a family member that attempted to negotiate a reduction in her annual raise because it would put her about 200 bucks into the next tax bracket, and she didn't want to pay "thousands more in taxes".

I think they are saying that they are taxed on the amount in the brackets. Complete fabricated example: under $20k is taxed at x%, and just the $20k-$30k is at y%, just $30k-$40k is at z% and etc

The myth would be that people think if they make over a certain amount the full amount is taxed at the higher rate.

Basically our economy is in an all time sh*thole state. The Fiscal Cliff will mean higher (much higher) taxation on income tax. Means more money will be coming out of everyone paycheck to help re-stimulate the economy. It's mostly based off of Budget Control Act of 2011 with the addition of taxation based on Obama's Healthcare Bill.

Basically we're all going to be taxed out the A$$



And to answer your question OP the reason more people don't care is because most Americans are too stupid to care and are more concerned about getting yucky tonight.
