agreed. it had great depth....layers of meaning...direct and subtle throughout. it wasn't just an overblown action movie; like 300. that movie was hugely disappointing. i honestly felt nothing for the characters of that film, because the writers just didn't flesh them out enough for you to feel connected, as with Gladiator. not sure if you've seen 300, but i just thought it could have been done much better.
Agree completely! 300 was a joke IMO.

So, for me, this movie makes my top 20 list.
Extraordinarily moving end scene...(sorry, not sure if this is spoiling anything for anyone who hasn't seen the movie)
When he says...'I could have gotten more out.' Oh gosh, I weep, everytime.
Please take the time to see this movie, if you haven't...(Schindler's List)
Schindler's List was also phenomenal!!

The Insider in an incredible movie! I'd hate to have to choose between it and Gladiator..

Not a single mention of Meatballs or Caddyshack? Sheesh.

As far as 'chick movies' go...How to Make an American Quilt. I just love Winona Rider.
Another worthwhile movie, that maybe could make my top 20 list...Fight Club.
Not a Brad Pitt fan...but in that movie? Superb.
And his acting was great, too.

Ha!! No word of a lie, I went off and took a shower after I posted and I had full intentions of editing my post to Slapshot (and kept Meatballs in there lol..).

I think this is probably one of the best comedy films ever made. It isn't as joke-by-joke funny as Blazing Saddles but it is my favorite:
2 + 2 = 5 (for extremely large values of 2)
