After what I saw last night, Overeem's got to finish Cain within the first round or early in the second. If Cain puts on that kind of pace that he did vs. JDS over 2 rounds vs. Overeem and Overeem can't seriously hurt him or put him away? Overeem's done. That was a much more frenetic pace than Overeem v. Werdum and Overeem gassed badly in that fight.

Resilience? Find me another HW that would've hung around for that kind of abuse and not taken the TKO. Take the whole UFC, and I can probably count on one hand the guys who would stay in it like that.
Edgar, Leben, Lauzon, and Penn are the only active guys I can think of that have been battered like that and still tried to hit a home run.

Ye, Overeem can bring in a decent buyrate against Cain but in my eyes he still hasn't really done anything in MMA.
I'm not saying anything about his abilities or K-1 stuff, he just hasn't impacted the MMA scene other than being big and beating a popular Lesnar.

Roy Nelson is another guy that comes to mind.

I still think something was wrong with JDS.
When my brother and I were sitting at the bar watching the fight, after the first 2 minutes I said"something is wrong with JDS" and that was right before he started taking all sorts of shots.
Anyway, when Reem beats silva, I think he will smash Cain. Even if Cain can get his hands on Reem it will be alot hard with a guy who walks around at close to 300lbs ripped.
Daniel Cormier is the best heavyweight out there right now, if you don't know who he is, or you don't know about why he is hyped, look it up on YouTube.
Heavy hands, Olympic wrestler, guy is a monster. The only problem is he fights at AKA and him and Cain don't want to fight each other.(though Dana has ways of changing minds)

Good point. Before he hung it up, Lytle would be in there, too.

First things first: 'Reem is not walking around at 300 pounds. Let's put that to bed. He weighed in at 250-something for Lesnar. Put simply: he didn't even make the 265 limit.
Secondly, we're all well aware of who Daniel Cormier is. There are at least three threads on the front page discussing his accolades, future, and abilities.

Most HW fights end in the 1st or 2nd anyways. Only exception is Cain due to his style and because he doesnt throw any weight behind his punches. I think Werdum is the worst stylistic matchup for Cain because he won't want to take him to the ground and he can't clinch with him or Werdum will pull guard, so that leaves his kickboxing which by itself is not very good. I could see Overeem subbing Cain too, just depends on when Overeem gets taken down. If it would be in the first, the chances are pretty good Reem might guillotine Cain.

He actually did weigh 265 for the Lesnar fight, but he probably cut only a few pounds if any. He's definitely not 300, lulz.

Fitch, Carwin, Koscheck, Hominick, Garcia, KZ, Barry, Maldano, Shogun, Hendo, Faber, Sanchez, Wanderlei, <--- Some of those guys got beaten up a lot harder than JDS was imo. JDS showed heart but it was not THAT impressive. Would have much rather see him not gas after 3 minutes worth of sprawling drills.

I mean he lost his title and was dominated. Now we see what he does from here. Does he come back even better and get his title back? Or does he become another guy in the middle of the pack.

He won't be middle of the pack. He's 28 and not many HWs have either the standup skills or the wrestling to give him problems, let alone a mix of the two.

Plus, he's already decimated almost the entire HW roster already with the exception of Overeem and Cormier.

Reem weighed in at 263 (ripped to the core) against Lesnar.
