A couple recent "WTF?" moments from the gym...
Last Tuesday doing leg curls, and I'm on my 3rd or 4th set. Some newb woman was use the leg press machine next to me. I never use it. It's the one with a seat and the platform is in front of you and you push yourself and the seat away from the platform instead of moving the platform away from you like a leg press machine. So anyway, she's frantically trying to get my attention and I pull out one earbud and she says "Are you waiting for this?" Which clearly I wasn't. So I just said "No" and she says "OK, good. Because I'm going to be here a while." I just faked a half smile and put my earbud back in and said nothing and did my next set. Rested about 90 seconds, did another set and she was gone.
Today I am warming up for shoulder press and this guy walks half-way across the gym and asks me if I am using the 45lb plate that is on the peg on the side of the equipment I am using. I would eventually need it but I said no just because it was easier and there were tons of other plates around. In fact there were two 45lb plates on the spare pegs on the very piece of equipment that he was using. So why come over and bug me?
No big deal either one. Just quirky kinda **** that I don't get and it's a slow night.

The one and only MMA fighter in my gym (whom I normally get along great with) comes up right behind me as I'm leg pressing 1,080 AND dieting for a show and whispers in my ear "if I need a hand he's there." in the middle of my set.
Being an MMA fighter is the only thing that saved his azz that day.
I'm resting on the Hammer Strength row in between sets, 4 plates/side.
Newb chick starts unloading the plates right off the machine I'm sitting on.
I bertstare her.
She doesn't clue in.
I then ask her "WTF are you doing? I'm using this."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
D'uh!
This one took the short yellow school bus I gather.
I dunno FLEX, can't kill 'em all like Metallica says but it sure would make gym life a little easier if we could.

I think my danger face needs work. Too many people bugging me these days. Did a set with the 65s today then put them back on the rack. Was looking for the 70s and some dude is bugging me to ask if I'm done with the 65s. If I wasn't done, why would I re-rack them???

Because in your gym when you're done, you're supposed to leave them scattered on the floor.

That explains why I had to go over to the assisted dip/pullup machine to get the 70s.

Some people like to dip with a 70 and set the assist at 80 and log that as a 150 lb weighted dip.
Problem?

Had one attempt that while I was doing shrugs. Standing next to the bar taking a breather and this assclown walks up and starts to remove a plate, I asked him "what the fuk are you doing?" and I wasn't real nice about it either. he tells me he needs a plate so I pointed to about 20 other plates on various racks and other equipment that wasn't being used.

On the road to swoleville
It's just gonna get worse after the new year and people show up with their 'resolutions'.
Though last week when I was doing singles on bench day not one asked to spot of give me a lift off when I was doing 215 and 225 after my top sets. but once I put on 135 and was on my 4th set out of 5 sets...now people wanted to give me a spot.
da faq? If I didn;t need it with 225 why the hell would I need it with 135?

It is for this reason I am content for now to train in my own garage. I choose the musical selection and if anything retarded gets said or done during the workout, it's all me.

I had some idiot steal plates off of the angled leg press that I was using last week! I went to the water fountain, and 'poof!'

H = T + V
Was sitting around waiting for the rack today as some guy was doing DB curls in it. No joke. I always thought people were kidding about that sort of thing. It cracked me up enough that I actually didn't mind waiting a few minutes.
2 + 2 = 5 (for extremely large values of 2)

My last WTH moment was at a local Globo gym.
Sales rep lady sells me a 6 month contract on sale for $99.00 for new a member. We chat for about 30 minutes as she fills out my contract, takes drivers license number, and credit card. She then shows me how to scan my card and then does it for me. She turns the computer screen my way so I can see how my profile comes through.
She encourages me to change and train and have a good time. So I do.
After an hour and a half I'm done and go to leave. As I pass by the front desk she waves me down and say's she has not seen me before and asks If I had scanned in for the day. Of course I thought she was joking.
She was not. After I informed her that she just signed me up, she turned red and walked away.
Well, so did I, and never went back. It was the inspiration I needed to build my own gym.
If there is any dementia in my gym its my fault, because I own the place...lol

[x]cutting [ ] bulking
Well the new-years resolutioners have already arrived at my gym... apparently. I know this because I've been training at this gym over 11 years now and the regulars all know me. They are used to me being one of the few serious women lifters in there. I go on about my training and no one messes with me other than the occassional small talk. For me the new year brings a whole new crop of weirdo gawkers. They don't even try to be non-chalant about it. Today one guy felt the need to share his litany of excuses as to why he was a lazy fat ass. I'm thinking... "Am I wearing a sign that says 'please interrupt my training with your sad story of mediocrity'"? I'm like dude... STFU and lift something. Yapping to me about it ain't gonna help.
28lbs gained in the bulk... let the cutting commence for the July show!
