Any views? I enjoy the chemistry between Goldberg and Rogan, feels like listening to two regular dudes discussing the fights. Not sure Anik, while perfectly competent, will be the same?
Anik is kind of annoying and robotic. But it'll be much more technically sound commentating. Especially since Joe has quit being observant and has started to exhibit fanboy-like tendencies and employed screaming as his main form of communication.

By now, it seems obvious that the UFC strongly encourages they're play by play guys to do the Goldberg-esque schtick. Still, I'm curious to see the chemistry (or lack thereof) that Anik and Rogan have with one another. I can't recall if they've ever teamed before. I had higher expectations for Anik when he started...but as I said Zuffa obviously wants the play by play man to do Mike Goldberg type stuff, and it might be that he and Kenny just don't play off one another as well as people hoped.

But this is what I'm talking about, I love mma but will admit I watch the fights and don't necessarily break them down to the minutiae of what is going on and how they are playing out technically. I.e. if I was commentating this is the hilarious nonsense I'd come out with...
goldie and joe rogan make UFC. whenever the FX or other events are on without them it doesn't feel the same, quite boring in fact. sure he uses the same 'quotes' "it's all over' etc, but that's what makes it UFC. i don't need some in depth technical analysis, i train i know it myself, i just like hearing the familiar voices of joe and mike. they are like two old friends, as i always stream the UFC events on my own in my room i feel like i am watching with friends, familiars of mine. i don't like two 'strangers' being on my broadcast, makes me uncomfortable and
I liked the commentary much better without goldie. He and Rogan are both very excitable - Anik brought balance to the commentary, and it seems to keep Rogan more professional (up until the HW title bought, at which time Rogan lost all semblance of unbiased commentary).

I bet something is up that we don't know of yet. When asked in the post fight scrum or whatever Dana did not want to give any details on the situation and did not seem really happy about the question.
