I'm a beginner in weightlifting and today i hit a new pr on the jerk of 82,5 and then i tried 85. the second time i failed to catch it on my delts and then it dropped onto my front leg. just about 3 or 4 inch above my knee. It's causing quite some soreness and now i'm wondering if my quad will grow or even get stronger from this.

Will muscles grow or get stronger if you drop something heavy on it.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon

Get a job in your local boxing club as a punchbag.
Or pay some enforcer to visit regularly to deliver a professional beating that doesn't actually break bones or rupture organs.
I suspect that after a few such sessions, your lifts would all mysteriously get weaker. Eventually you'd be lucky to be able to get out of bed. Go figure.
You might need help if you are serious about this.Beginners:

Beyond novice, 5 3 1 or see above:)
Unless it is obvious to anyone who isn't blind that you lift weights, you might still benefit from a little more attention to big basic barbell exercises for enough reps:).

Tell 10 people the “secret to a great body” is a dirty bulk followed by an extreme cut in carbs and kcal, 7 will try it.
Tell 10 people the actual way to do it, which is a diet that really doesn’t end, whether you are in muscle gain or fat loss mode, and only 1 will try it.
People hear what they want to hear.
Everybody needs a good wakeup call sometimes.
