Big thanks to the guys with Genomyx for giving me the opportunity to log Origin for them. I wont be logging the full detailed breakdown of each workout, but Ill comment on endurance, fatigue, pump, attention, etc. As well as anything that stands out to me based on the claims of the product. I will be starting my log without consuming Origin for the first week or so. During this time I will be commenting on how I feel in terms of non-Origin-influenced training sessions. After which time I will introduce the Origin 30-40 minutes after my pwo meal, 20-30 minutes before workouts. I know Genomyx recommends consuming 40 minutes pwo, but Im gonna roll with 20 and adjust if needed. By doing this I hope to establish a clear comparison of my workouts without Origin vs. workouts WITH Origin. Most logs only show you the during effects but no one knows how these effects compare prior to using the product.
A little about myself:
- Name: Eric
- Age: 24
- Training Exp: 7 years. 4-5 serious
- Stats: 5'8", currently 181 lbs, bf% ~10%?
- Training goals: I dont do the whole bulking/cutting bs. Full-time recomper right here. Also in process of getting a strained pec back to 100%. If my knee allows it - show Smitty how to box squat without PL gear.
- Diet: cleanish. Working on dialing it back in... Christmas was delicious. Some Gut Health would be nice.
- Training Routines: currently Im working off the PHAT set up. I've extended it though, I dont see the point in follow a 1 week set up. The PHAT is 2on, 1off, 3on, 1off. I tried that and I dont feel like I was getting the most I could from it so instead of 3on Ill be doing 4on. Will be doing some light cardio at least once or twice a week to keep the bodyfat under control. Im naturally pretty lean so once or twice a week plus intense lifting is sufficient for my current goals.
Ill be taking questions at this time. Any concerns, comments, questions, or critiquing of this log (things it might do well to include/omit) are more than welcome.) Tonight is shoulders and weak point training!

Just had my much needed post workout meal. Yummy.
As I said I hit shoulders tonight. Had a really good workout but I was pretty tired for some reason. Got in and hit the treadmill for a quick warmup walk and then went to the HS Shoulder press. Pump was nice. Focus came and went. I had decent energy during sets, in between sets I was feeling a little sluggish. After I finished shoulders and went back to the rear delts for weak point training. Actually I did FST-7 - never done it before and Ive been wanting to incorporate and see how I liked it. Really finished off my workout nicely. Also did calves. 5 sets standing, 3 sets seated.
Overall workout tonight was really good but I didnt have the energy. Intensity was up so that sort of compensated for the sluggishness and yawning. Like I said - my diets been a little off so that may play in to my energy levels.
Post workout Im feeling pretty battered and lazy. Granted its 10:30pm, but Im ready to pop 5g melatonin and pass out for a solid 9 hours. Since today was shoulders Ill probably hit the lower body tomorrow.Scivation/PrimaForce Representative

Just woke up this afternoon from a 5g melatonin coma. Hit a lower power day and I actually did cardio. 10 minute warmup before legs, then 30 minutes on the stairmill after doing heavy legs. Mike could agree with me when i say that i do not do cardio. Today i actually wanted too. Felt pretty good today. Had a good amount of energy and concentration during my workout. Wasn't the best but was still pretty good. I did take a little too much time between sets sitting around though.
It was days like today that pwo would have been good, not to give me the energy, but to take a great workout to the next level. Based on the claimed effects of Origin, it seems like it would be a solid addition to a workout like I had today.Scivation/PrimaForce Representative

Well, that little black tub has been sitting in my counter now for a few days. Taunting me, daring me to just take it. Today when I was making my first meal I went to brew up some coffee and I just couldnt find a k-cup that interested me. Very lethargic this morning. Slept through two alarms and was a little late leaving the house.
I said screw it and mixed up a scoop of Origin with just enough water to dissolve it all. Cant comment on flavor just yet because I had a mouthful of vitamins, and I mixed a scoop (1g) or cissus powder in with it as well. Which, for the record, I do not recommend and will not do again. That was just awful.
I consumed that just before leaving. I have a 40-ish minute ride to work and when I got here I felt nothing that I would have normally expected from a pwo. I didnt feel any type of energy per say... but didnt feel like I needed a cup of coffee either. I came in to work and actually banged out a decent amount of work. I felt a bit more alert and focused than what my morning coffee gives me. This lasted about 40 minutes after getting here and by now this feeling has since passed and I am now avoiding work like the plague - hence being on bb.com.
Could this be the Origin? Yes. But Im hesitant to say for certain because for 1) It was only one scoop, and 2) Im very caffeine tolerant, and 3) Ive never had dicaf, or any taken a product with a profile quite like this. Therefore I think it needs more analysis before I say conclusively that a scoop of Origin makes me actually do work lol.
By now Im getting my "2:30 Feeling" and its only 11:45am. Tonight is Upper Power and Ill comment on my mood, energy levels, etc tonight.Scivation/PrimaForce Representative

LOL! Thanks Mike! Happy New Years to you and Jess! Limit your tequila so bad Smitty doesnt come out.
The pec seems to be improving with each workout which is great. But Im still nervous to push it. I still have yet to get back under the bar at all. Sticking to DB press or the cybex chest press. Doing a lot of incline db/hs, declines, and cables though.
I was SUPPOSED to do upper power tonight. A little birdie told me that Golds was open normal hours but what he meant was they close at 6 tonight, tomorrow is normal hours. I decided that I was sick of waiting and downed two scoops of the deep blood red deliciousness that is Origin. I said before I hate most fruit punch pwos. Maybe two that Ive had have been pretty decent. Honestly this was one of the best tasting pres Ive had considering Im generally not a fan of the FP. If I were to try a blue raz or grape or watermelon I could better compare as thats what all my pres are.
Having not been able to hit upper power, I stayed in and broke out the pull up bar in the doorway. Not the best workout to analyze a pre workout supplement but the pump in my lats and arms was noticeable. Not Hemavol or slin sane noticeable but there was definite blood flow increase. I did notice some mind-muscle focus going on. I had some pretty sweet muscle contractions that stood out to me. Im not crashing at all from it, it was very clean energy that I can still notice. I was totally zoned in on a few games of Tekken as well lol. And I really hate to use the word "energy". I wouldnt really call it an energy so much as it was an alertness, or readiness. My initial impressions was that it was a little bit of a Neurosurge effects, if anyone has tried that product.
Id be more than enthused to try three scoops, but Im going to try two scoops and really get a feel for the mental aspects of this products before looking for that extra "kick".
Thus far - this product made a nice first impression.Scivation/PrimaForce Representative

Funny you say that Tyler. Tonight was upper power. I took one scoop 40 minutes pre, and a second scoops 15 minutes pre......I was at the gym for 2 and half hours. Continuously working out, not dragging my heels, not walking around taking long breaks between sets.
1 minute between all sets. Extra sets, exercises, etc. And I didnt even feel an overwhelming sense of energy. It was raw endurance and stamina. Zero fatigue, total concentration. Ive really only felt the mental effects like this from one other pre, which is my go-to pwo that I would continue to buy. However that is now being discontinued so Im especially excited to log Origin.
Note: Flavor is great and its blood red. Not sure what makes it so incredibly dark, its not even see through. Maybe its like beer, and the darker it is the better it is? But I only used maybe 2-3oz. of water for one scoop. This left a chalk feeling inside my mouth.
Also would like to point out that although I said I didnt feel an overwhelming sense of energy, I wasnt yawning or feeling lethargic at all. I was awake, alert, ready to rumble. I was energetic but it just wasnt a familiar type of energy. I was very pleased by this because most pres Ive taken that have actually given me plenty of energy, requires me to take 2-3 scoops which supplies a generous amount of caffeine anhydrous. For me, when I hit that level of energy, my hearts also racing and pounding pretty hard in my chest. I didnt experience any of that tonight. I felt really good being in the gym. Almost a euphoric feeling (that could actually be because it was All-Smoking-Hot-Girls-Go-To-Golds Gym-today Day.) Will assess that again on Thursday when theres less TnA.
Mike - pec is really coming along. Worked up to 225# for 3x5 in incline bb. Then went to db press and put up 100#s for a set of 7 and the 105#ers for 2x6/5. Surprisingly I felt no pain in my chest all. Last time I did the 100s and felt a little pain. Cable flies are still unfriendly though. Tonight I actually had a sense of determination in my workout though, that Ive been looking for. So I was really fired up going in to the db press. Could be the Origin, could be other things. Will see if this continues.Last edited by eric40817; 01-01-2013 at 08:38 PM.

I will try that. Next time Im going to try 8-12oz with ice I only used a small amount of water because that is how I take my pwo most of the time, so I wanted to directly compare how it is compared to others. Sometimes if Im in a hurry Ill just throw a scoop directly in my mouth and chase it back with water.
I didnt want to. Your Origin made me do it.
Im going to roll with 2 scoops for little while longer while my bp still a little elevated. Ill try three scoops soon and if I get any bp issues, Ill just bump it back down to 2 until I get the bp under more control. Although it is nice to be getting such solid focus and determination, with a lower dose. Makes the product look very cost effective for some.Scivation/PrimaForce Representative

Today would normally be an off day but since my other supplements help to increase recovery speed, I may skip the off day and go in for a hypertrophy leg day, or just do some cardio and accessory work. If I do Ill try out the 3 scoops of Origin and report back.
Maybe instead of amending the servings/container, Genomyx should just make the current serving a wee bit stronger so as to market it as a great value for your dollar.Scivation/PrimaForce Representative
