    Thumbs up Critique Bench Form, Disregard jerk off spotter (vid)(reps)

    Critique on form and overall motion of the lift is greatly appriciate!


    INB4 omgz your spotter had his fingers on bar and helped you

    I told him to NOT touch the ****ing bar unless I asked and of course he had to piss me off...ah well I know I could get more next time and will get a vid without anyone touching the bar, and if they do you'll see a vid of me smashing someone's face into the bb repeatedly lol.


    EDIT: I think I have problems, I can't watch the vid without wanting to break something because of him thinking I need help and touching bar, mother ****er.

    I would have been pissed at the spotter too. Work on your arch and nasty drop and bounce on the chest. If you're interested in competing in a meet I would work on that.

    Get arch, remove bounce, that way you won't decelerate so much, that way the spotter won't feel the need to help

    My chest is hurting just watching that bounce ouch! The other guys basically covered everything else I have to say. Next time tell your spotter not to touch the bar until he sees you make a downward movement.

    Im curious , is a bounce like in vid legal for a pl meet? And why is the bounce not preferred in everyones opinion? I feel like it helps me lift more.

    Ahhh ok fuarkkkkkk so i have to pretty much hold it, rest it, pause on chest for a full second for it to count...I'll have to make another vid then, i wonder if i could even do 340 the proper way according to PL standards.... crap

    If you've never practiced a paused bench then I highly doubt you can get 340 or even 315. You should work with a 3 count pause, or at a minimum a 2 count pause.

    Yeah man most people experience an immediate reduction, but when you start doing it properly you'll gain the strength back. Muscle is much better at lifting heavy weights than the elasticity of your rib cage

    Based on the monster bounce, I'd give you 300 with a pause. Maybe. With a good heave, I can put up 475, with a pause my best lifts are only 455 in the gym and 435 in competition. And that's with years of experience competing, not relying on it for every lift. Arch could use some work too, you plant your feet like you're going to get a huge arch, then just kind of lay down flat. Get your hands on the bar and push your shoulders down the bench toward your butt.
