I have looked but could not find any thread about those of us over the big 40. I know that my training has changed a lot in the last few years. I just wanted to start a thread for all of us and hear how everyone is still kicking butt!!

Post-op appointment today, was once again told that I was in remarkable shape and that I could run and jog for the next 3 weeks along with upper body exercises. No decline wt. crunches, wt. dips, chins and pull-ups for about 4 to 5 weeks, however. While not quite the same as kicking butt, guess it'll be awhile before I'm back to embarrassing some of the younger guys at the gym.
Inactivity Kills!!!
My journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=140991491 Age is NOT an acceptable excuse.
Played with dinosaurs as a child. Back then everyone was thin; it was a matter of out-running the raptors or being one of their meals.

well I don't train as hard as I did in my teens and early twenty's. I'm not as strong as I was in my mid thirties. I wake up every day thankful I'm not looking up through 6 feet of earth.
need insperation?
spent 5 1/2 months off work with ripped planter tendons and a colapsed ankle 2 1/2 years ago.
there's a nice pic from my knee replacement surgery in June of 2011
my current pr is a 820lb hack squat and a 1355lb leg press.
how much higher I go is only limited by how much effort I put in.Yetti

I'm kicking so much ass its crazy. Another pb today: 45 lb dbs x 8 reps seated military press. Been setting pr/pb's just about every workout.
At some point I need to update my photos but prolly not til I'm done with this bulk and have shaved off some fat.Last edited by dungeonmistress; 12-28-2012 at 10:49 AM.
A successful woman is one who can build a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at her
