Ah new inspiration. Getting into your 40's sucks. Things hurt more, last longer, and takes more effort. But, after watching the gains of the last few years go away, and knowing how hard it is to get them back, gives me the motivation at 43 to get off my ass and fix it.
"Do or do not. There is no try..."

44 is an awesome age to begin! I'm more focused in my freezing cold, bare bones (barbell, squat rack, bench, dumbbells) gym at home than I ever was in my younger days when I occasionally went to the local commercial gym and played with Smith Machines and leg presses for hours on end!! My form in all lifts is also better than ever. I plan to get into the best shape of my life over the next 24 months. Been doing All Pro's beginners routine and just smoked cycle 2 - and even had energy left at the end to try out a more high-bar olympic style squat or three. I liked it way more than I thought I would! Just need to save up for those damned Adidias PP2s!

Turning 44 was more like, Where the hell did that gut come from? and buying a swim shirt to cover up in the summer.(Not this summer). Realizing you can't eat everything you want anymore without adding to the core. Not like the 20 and 30's when it just burned off. Didn't realize how much eating right plays into it. Down 8 pound since January. That's the difference this time around...eating right. We age we get better!!
