It's not about the "alcohol taste" it's about the complex flavors that come out of certain whiskeys, rums, tequilas, etc. The alcohol is just part of it. It's a craft and a respectable one at that.

All of it is an acquired taste (well, to be fair, I don't think anyone has an acquired taste for 5 o'clock vodka...). I used to hate beer, now I like many craft and domestic beers. I also thoroughly enjoy many types of whiskey for the taste. I used to hate it. You'll grow into it.

once you become a man you'll enjoy the flavors of straight liquors. i hnnng over a good scotch/ whiskey by itself with some ice. a good way to find out what you would enjoy straight, start with strong mixed drinks and go from there.
