lol at the reactions to my post. I never said he lacks thickness, but this thread pretty much became a Kai vs Phil thread. And what Phil have better then Kai in some poses are detail. But most people seem to get confused about this and say Kai lacks thickness or Phil thickness is so impressive.

That's a great pose for Kai ^^^^^^^^^^. It shows his great conditioning from head to toe.

Here is a pose I don't like when Kai does it and in my opinion he should stop doing this pose. It makes his waist look wider and his chest looks flat and smaller than it is. He should stick to the traditional most muscular (crab).

If I had to judge the Olympia, I thought that Kai won the first night but Phil more than made up for it in the second night (not by him being bigger, which one can see came from the line issue, but him being in better condition while Kai got flatter). One of the upsetting things, which I fumed about in my postolympia rant, was that despite the head judge lady (who made them do poses at warp speed) saying it was really "close", Phil still won with perfect scores in both nights.

Perfect scores isn't a "really" close Olympia. The odds of it all the judges all giving Phil the slight edge over Kai seem too unlikely for it not to look suspicious at an Olympia or an instance of poor judging. What I was glad about is that when Wolf beat Rhoden a couple of weeks later, it was not a perfect decision, because frankly he did not win by a perfect decision. Just like if Rhoden won, he should have not won with perfect scores. And neither should Phil have won with perfect scores.

As for the Cedric hype train, while hype trains can explode to unreasonably levels, don't forget that after the 2008 Ironman everyone was fawning over Phil to become the new Mr. Olympia.

The Olympia uses much more than the minimum required judges. Only 5 scores are used for every athlete, the highest and lowest are tossed out so that the middle is taken (this is to reduce bias).

*that* is how someone can get "perfect scores" even if not all the judges had them first.


This stuff has been beaten to death on PBW. I'm surprised by how many people still don't know how shows are judged.

I personally agree that he looked better at the finals. I think the flatness did come along with better sharpness, but I actually liked that overall look for him better because he wasn't exactly looking like a pancake, yet he showed up with a new level of detail....it just still wasn't enough to beat Phil(who also sharpened up but while keeping his fullness).

I dunno. It does hide his size a bit but emphasizes his separation. I think he might wanna stick to hitting it next to guys other than Phil though as Phil keeps his fullness in that shot. Against most competitors, I'd say Kai looks great in that shot, and certainly when he's by himself. Otherwise, yeah, needs to hit a traditional crab most muscular when standing next to guys like Wolf and Phil (though even when he hit the crab shot, I still say Phil wins while hitting the same crab most muscular)

THIS. - Heath's arms are pretty much the ideal proportions every thing flows in them down to his monster forearms, IMO he really does have the GOAT arms, if a human was to be built with perfect arms they should look like those of Heath. If I had arms like this I would be wearing a tank top 24/7 and would even modify any suits into tank tops to show them off.
