I always worry about something bad happening but so far I have been lucky. I own multiple guns but I've never felt the need to ever carry one on me when someone comes over to buy something. I have had men come to buy things that are carrying guns though. Usually someone who is carrying (legally) is pretty responsible though. I always just figured if someone came over and decided to rob me of my equipment and cash then its not worth getting in a shootout over it anyway.

The gun isn't to keep them from taking your money/stuff. It's to (hopefully) save your life.

I can replace my wallet, truck, equipment, etc. There aren't any replacement stasher1's for sale on Amazon.

Some guy advertised "two pairs" of Ivanko training collars and "two pairs" of Quicklee collars for $60. The photo shows one pair of each. I ask the guy if he actually has "two pairs" (four) of the Ivankos. He says yes. He agrees to accept $30 PayPal payment for the "two pairs" of Ivankos and to ship them to me for $6 (it's not worth driving that far for just some collars). I pay him $36. After payment is of course when he acts surprised that I want "two pairs". I realize that something is up and start a PayPal dispute. After many frustrating email exchanges, I get a refund. ...just about that time, I noticed that he had carbon copied another email address so I look it up and find that she's an interpreter. Apparently the guy doesn't speak English and apparently doesn't know the meaning of the word "pair".

I understand you are upset, but the employee has to drive to the post office (fuel and mileage) find the right boxes (will take several, the post office has limits on weight, we know), drive back, wrap and seal, then go back to the post office, stand in line, and finally, drive back. Sorry you do not understand.

Thanks. I was in a playful mood. I don't have much patience for shop owners that are smart a----. I did show greater patience with the lady who sold me some ROEZH plates on the 'bay. It took more than half a dozen emails to get her auction listed correctly but it worked out well in the end. Her feedback for me was "Very helpful and patient with the transaction." I'm going to leave her good feedback also. Unfortunately, she got slammed with a neg from another buyer who wasn't as tolerant.

32. When you daily re-post an ad for useless overpriced crap at inflated prices. You can watch some of these ads for weeks and see the prices fall slowly, but any potential buyers have lost interest.

33. When you sell a treadmill (or similar) and and just say "treadmill for sale". Please state specific model so I can research it.

There's a guy near me that flips higher end equipment. A lot of it is at the MSRP and sometimes even more than MSRP. Most of it is heavily used gym liquidations. He mostly uses stock photos so that you don't see the rust on the actual stuff. He's had the same stuff listed for 6 months to a year and it's a complete waste of time to try to negotiate with him. I don't alway recognize his posts and I've contacted him about a few things, not realizing it was him. He's quite proud of himself and likes to talk about how long he's been flipping gear. At his prices, it's got to be a VERY long time. LOL.

There is a person near me trying to sell one of those home gyms for near retail. In his ad he states "home gyms do not depreciate in value". Surely he must know of what he speaks, although the ads been re-posted several times with no takers.

16) Even though flipping a photo is just about easier than turning on the computer....because you're still a busy douchebag, you never take the 2 seconds to do it. Turning your head sideways isn't a big deal and is a small price to pay for the awesome standard bench press you want $300 for.

You might be a Craigslist Idiot if....

(1) Your sale has no photos or your sale photos are stock photos from the manufacturer's website If your description is also poor, then you're 2x an idiot. But if you're selling cement weights, then you're an a**.

(2) Your photos are smaller than a postage stamp and/or the same resolution as the photos of the Loch Ness monster.

(3) You never take down your sales after the items are sold. Your time is too valuable. If other people still read your ad and reply, it's easier for you just ignore them.

(4) You send a one line email: "is it still available?" the same day that the sale was posted.

(5) You say "I'll take it" and then never contact the seller again

(6) You spend $50 on gas and six hours driving to save $50.

(7) You get chatty and stick around after a buy.

(8) You think it's ok for the sale items to be picked up two feet away from used kitty litter or garbage.

(9) You ask detailed questions in numerous emails before finally disclosing your ridiculously low offer

(10) You take photos of your Craigslist score and then use the same photos to flip the gear even though you're keeping the good stuff in the photos.

The guys who came up to get my Ivanko plates yesterday had responded to my Craigslist ad for them. They drove almost 3 hours for them, and they happen to be bb.com members. They were great guys, and stayed to BS for about an hour. No problem with that, whatsoever.

That being said, half of the people I deal with on craigslist end up being idiots, so I highly approve of this thread.

I suppose that the chatting depends on the people and the timing.

LOL  I was teasing you…or teasing you back, assuming that you were joking about your $40 handling fee.  It's OK that you don't want to ship.  I do think it would be in the best interest of a business to equip itself for shipping, especially something this easy.  There is going to be much larger demand for the product further away from the manufacturer.  You're practically neighbors with Ivanko.  FYI, flat rate boxes can hold up to 70 lbs, the weights are labeled on the plates, and the rate is fixed so the postage could just be printed.  If your business doesn't have any office equipment, it might not have a printer but stamps would work also.  I've shipped and received weights in priority boxes frequently.  It wasn't difficult to find a company that will ship.  Today I ordered ____ shipped by freight with a shipping cost of $____.   Have a good day and good luck to you.
