Please provide citations. I am having a hell of a time sifting through this stuff on the internet. The clearest support for this is on wikipedia.com:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin_resistance
Citation: http://atvb.ahajournals.org/content/25/12/2451.full"Once established, insulin resistance would result in increased circulating levels of insulin. Since insulin is the primary hormonal signal for energy storage into fat cells, which tend to retain their sensitivity in the face of hepatic and skeletal muscle resistance, IR stimulates the formation of new fatty tissue and accelerates weight gain.[37]"
If so, is it enough a difference to justify subjecting one self to VLCD?
I am thinking it may just be enough to eat under a certain amount of carbs per day, not go full keto.
Interestingly enough, that article claims that Dietary fat has a greater impact on IR.
