I don't think this question is all that tricky. Have you ever backed into the toilet late one night in the dark and the seat was up? I dunno, a quick drop of the seat after using the toilet seems like an ok deal. Even more so if she does not mind cleaning the thing. We be a bit messy even once fully grown. Let the whipped comments come.

I've used those in Italy and they suck, especially if you have the hershey squirts. Better have some strong legs to hold you up for sometime.

Even if hubs puts the seat up, he hits the rim and as an added bonus sometimes the floor!!! He has lots of good qualities, so I just leave the situation alone and clean up after him.

That's the problem with a large % of males and they feel it is their right to do so. Out of respect for my wife/family/the next person I always clean up and more times than not I agree with frozensparky, I just sit. It is cleaner and the seat is already in the prefered position for the women.

But it's hard for some dudes to sit and pee without getting wet or trying to keep it off the porcelain. Pee doesn't come out as well when you have to fold it in half.

One night a few years back this woman I was dating woke me in the middle of night freaking out as she had fallen into my toilet. Even though I was a single man and she a visitor, apparently it was my fault as I had not put the seat down. Who in their right mind would sit down without looking to make sure they could sit down? We ended up getting married eventually divorced. She got more than half and prob took several years off my life, but I still get a good chuckle remembering when she fell into that toilet! Damn shame I flushed...

I just close the lid down too and then they have to lift it.

This! I have done this with every woman I've lived with if they want to make a big deal about me leaving it up.

Personally, I like to have the seat, and the lid, down. I think it looks neater. Who wants to look into an toilet if they don't have to? Not me. Besides, it solves the seat up/down thing. My wife isn't going to complain about the seat being up if the lid is down and everything looks neat and tidy. Those slow-closing lids are a great invention!

Actually if it is up or down... I never bring a fuss about it. It is pointless and just as easy for me to put it down rather than start a fued over a toilet seats position.

I keep the lid down most of the time. It's a Feng Shui thing - something about leaving the lid up equates to losing money. (Not that I'm into Feng Shui - my home is messy as hell). But I'm a bit of an anomaly in so far as I pee with the seat up. I just don't like putting my buttocks on a cold seat (and when it's not your own toilet you don't know what else might be on there, either).
