Back from that 1am workout. Did overhead presses and power cleans for the first time. Forearms, shoulders and traps all shot to hell. Feel like putty. Fellow 1am lifter helped me with my PCs.

Things are back on track for me. I had like 4-5 days of not giving a ****, but I worked out during a lot of it. I've been rather stressed, but I'm mitigating it better. Water weight had me fluctuated up to 327 on thursday, but I'm back down close to 320 today, so I should be able to post a loss tomorrow, albeit a minor one. I expect the week after that to be epic though.

I`m not sure if it`s different in the U.S. but there should be a way to find out which brands don`t have an issue with mercury.

I ate canned tuna throughout my pregnancy like 3 times per week at least, craved it like a mad women. Ended up technically losing weight (18 lbs gained by birth, 30 lbs lost by two weeks after) and gave birth to the most responsible, healthy and smart child I own, my daughter. My son was very very sick up to about age 8(Asthma), has serious attention problems, fidgets(non hyper) and struggles with anxiety often. At times I think he`s depressed. Wish I ate more tuna with him, serious. They are now telling pregnant women to stay off it but I wouldn`t if I did it all again.

Although this was 15 years ago, maybe there is more mercury now.

The ocean is the issue, not the brand Polluted water = polluted fish. Salmon might be okay since it's generally farmed and can be fresh water.

"For comparison to other parts of the human diet, the researchers indicate that total mercury levels were slightly higher in wild or farmed salmon than in chicken, beef, or pork and about the same as in fruit, vegetables, honey, and eggs. Compared to other foods, salmon contains lower levels of other trace elements. The average dietary intake of mercury and trace metals from salmon still remains a paltry 0.05% to 32% compared to the 68% to 99% that is absorbed from meat, poultry, fruit, and vegetables. Salmon also contains its own protection against mercury in the form of the element selenium. The moderate surplus of this metal can counteract mercury's toxicity."

Yes i understand, but different brands will have different sources I was thinkin. Apparently Clover Leaf has more than one. I was researchin`outta curiousity just now and this came across my googlin`search page. It`s just the B.C. health link re: tuna.... http://www.healthlinkbc.ca/healthfiles/hfile68m.stm

Albacore is supposed have little or no mercury, but of course it`s way more expensive. Looks like 2-4 servings per week is moderate and recommended if you buy the cheaper tuna, which i do. Bought a new brand recently, label says Thailand. Gawd.

This is my favorite way to eat tuna:

    Wrap or in a Pita

    Mix -

Tune in water (usually i buy Clover Leaf)
Mayo or whatever you want to substitute
    Green onions
    Celery
    Salt, Pepper, Dill

Put in pita(cut in half to stuff) or wrap, sprinkle some cheese, load with tomato and alfalfa sprouts (or anything other veggie). Love`m.

New all time low weight today for me 195.4

Don't think I've weighed this little since I was probably 14-15 years old. Scary that I've been over 200 pounds for basically the last 15 years of my life.

Next stop, 10% bodyfat and whatever weight that takes me too.

Think I'm on track to slightly gain weight this week, despite being super stingy with my calories. Feels bad man.

I have stats similar to yours and it's looking like 10% for me is around 140-145lb. Without having ever done a bulk, I think 10% will fall between 140-155lb at our height so be prepared! It may be a long journey with only small victories to show along the way, but they're victories nonetheless: like the one you just had

Personally, I'll probably stop around 155lb or so and begin a bulk, whatever BF % that might be.

Thanks, definitely feels good. That's for sure.

Don't worry about the scale for one week. The body can be a weird animal even when we do everything right.

And then bam, one week you lose four pounds. It's happened to me a number of times.

Just stay consistent and the results will follow. I've learned that much.

I know one thing for sure and that is I will never be around 140-150 pounds.

I still have a ways to go to get down to where I want to be but my lean mass is alone is in the ballpark of 160 pounds give or take.

I've had dozens of bodyfat tests run over the years at varying levels of leanness or fatness (whatever you want to call it) and this number has always been within 5 pounds either way.

Caliper tests, bod pod, hydrostatic weighing. So I trust that this is where I am in the ballpark.

I'm more muscular now than I've ever been in my life, I know that much for sure.

I'm guessing getting down to a legit 10% bodyfat right now will probably put me somewhere in the 170s. I could be off, but that's just my educated guess.

I know guys that are my height, 140 pounds, and super lean. They're called distance runners or cross country athletes.

I'd stop cutting if I ever got down to under 150 pounds. Don't have the body for it.

I don't think it's that you don't have the body for it but that rather the perception of the "ideal" body weight in the US is much higher (not scientifically but mentally). Looking around this forum, I've found people 5'8 - 5'10 around 150-160 that aren't necessarily muscular but far from being categorized as "runners."

As far as being 170lb 10%, both these guys say they're 5'10 @ 170lb with varying BF %s:

Heck, maybe you have a lot more muscle mass than I do underneath the fat! If you've got that below the squish, you'll have an awesome starting point when you reach 170. Anyway, this whole conversation is really speculation, I could be completely wrong. The best we can do is to better inform ourselves to make our estimates as accurate as possible :/

-1.5 lbs this week and happy about that.

I binged this week 3 nights in a row ... its stress eating for sure. And only getting the second workout of the week in today. I must change something around my priorities but at least still fighting for it.

Congratulations to all who have lost this week and those stubborn enough not to give up, even when the results come slowly!

172.6lbs this week. Slow progress is progress I guess. Going to try something different this week only since I don't have sport practices I'll try low carb low kcal. Of course start the week with full day fast.

Drinking and eating crap all week.

    Bad times.

Going to be giving a few things up for lent just to see if I can do it. I probably can't - I appear to have no willpower.

Fix your attitude. If you tell yourself you have no willpower, you have no willpower.

Right now you have two options:

    1. Feel sorry for yourself and stay fat.
    2. Fix your attitude, suck it up and make progress.

I agree. As Chael Sonnen pointed out, failure is always an option. There´s always two roads you can take, the one where you follow what you read from this forum and what people who have already lost weight tell you and the one where you binge every week, say that you have 0 willpower and stay fat, unhealthy and depressed. You can not eliminate failure, you have to accept it and not follow that path. Ultimately it is your own decision to go to the kitchen, open the fridge and eat crappy foods. I´m gonna be very blunt and say it is demoralizing for others when people come here to report that they have screwed up and will stay fat forever. Those who don´t want it bad, can´t be helped.

Hoping to hit the 95kg next week. Last time I weighed as much as I do now I was 14 or 15.

Starting to realise why they call it a vanity mirror as well, loving the changes I am seeing.

Keep up the fantastic work everyone who has hung aroun!

Managed to get rid of all the water weight gain from last week plus post a little loss. Down to 370.8.. Those intense cardio sessions at the gym seem to be helping. And not pushing myself too hard and going everyday helps the burnout too. Here's to being under 370 next week. :-)

    Talking

Today I weighed in at 177 lbs for a loss of 1.5 lbs last week.

Abs are starting to become distinctly visible when flexed. I am hoping I do not have to go under 170 lbs to reach my 10% bf goal but I'm starting to think i'll settle in around 165 lbs when this cut is done.

I haven't been this light since I was under 18 years old.
