Since it is the first week, lots of people will lose water weight over actual fat. There was 152 sign ups and I figure at least a portion of those will drop out from non-compliance to the rules of the competition. I'd like my guess to be significantly under what we actually lost in total amount... the more the better!

Awesome to see so many here posting whether they lost, gained or whatnot! So much supportive energy here. I'm gonna try n PM but will post here too..
4lb loss this week, and I don't think it's all water because I'm still retaining something awful, part due to PMS . I can feel it and see it in my (c)ankles.
Things that improved:
Did better with keeping within cal range, got on MFP.
More water/supp intake than usual.
Working out regularly and a TON more motivated.
Things that need improving:
Water
Quality of cals(can't shop for groceries until next friday payday)
Estimated loss next weigh in: 3-5 lbs

Welp, down 4lbs to start things off, which, considering I weighed in at 332 in New Year's Eve, and then me and my roommates binged on gourmet pizza, and then free food at the karaoke place we went to leaving me at like 336 the next day, I'm happy to end the week at 328.

Hah, looks like I got my PM in right on time early this morning.
Great job y'all! Myself, I lost 4lbs! New years day was rough and I was 275 on the next day, but im at a savvy and sultry 268 right now. Hopefully incorporating 10 minutes of HIIT in place of 20 minutes of moderate Cardio will make a huge difference. Fingers Crossed!

Goal - October 26, 2013 - 190lbs

Well good luck!
BJJ has always struck me as interesting but even if I were fit enough to do it being in the UK and not being able to drive restricts access to reputable instruction considerably.
I am very tempted to drop into the gym I used to go to and buy a years membership tomorrow though to try and force myself to go. XD

Today I felt like writing and posting my story.
Stats:
Age: 27 Height: 6'1 Current Weight: 205.0
Background:
Played tennis in junior college and was very fit, always less than 185 pounds. I transferred to a school and decided to focus on my studies. After I graduated, I went straight into grad school and after graduation I took a desk job with a 1.5 hour commute. I gradually gained weight, from 185 to 230, except for a one year stint in grad school when I played rugby. The funny thing is, being over 6 feet made it easy to hide the weight so I never really felt fat or anything.
In July of 2012 I quit my job and started my own business and decided to work on getting fit again. Did a lot of trail running and got my weight down below 220. At the end of July I began Starting Strength to build a solid base of muscle. Gained a lot of strength and size, but didn’t lose much weight. Although, my waist shrunk a few sizes.
On January 1st I weighed in at 215.6.
My workout program is Chris Gethin’s 12 week.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kris...y-trainer.html
It’s basically a 1 week full body split, 3 days on one day off. 20 minutes of cardio after breakfast and 20 minutes after dinner. (I think this is really helping the weight loss)
My daily calorie needs are around 2500-2700 calories. I’m going for around a 500 calorie deficit each day (although I have been around 1000-1500 so far this week).
My diet is:
Morning:
4 egg whites, 1 piece whole wheat fiber toast
Afternoon:
1 serving meat (chicken breast, tilapia, or salmon) and ½ cup brown rice
Dinner
1 serving meat (chicken breast, tilapia, or salmon) and 1 cup vegetables
I was originally planning on eating 4 meals, but so far I have found that three meals is enough (I might reevaluate this later)
I have a cup of coffee in the AM with breakfast and a green tea in the afternoon for the slump, which really helps curb the appetite.
Supplements:
BCAA
L-Glutamine
Whey (2 scoops on work out days) - I also have the slow digestion casein but have not used it yet.
Multi-vitamin
Creatine
C4 cell. Pre workout (this ish is strong, I’m taking half the recommended dose before my workouts - but it does work)
1/6/2013 weighed in at 205.0
Lost 10.6 pounds in 5 days. I know this is mostly water weight (I took pictures and you can’t tell much of a difference). I also know I can’t sustain this much weight loss throughout the 3 months so I’m putting my scale away and committing to weighing myself once a week. If I don’t do this I’ll be checking my weight too much and be pissed about any weight gains.
Also – with all of the working out, cardio and lifting I’m drinking a ton of water. I’ve already noticed my muscles begin to cramp easier (probably from the creatine).
Goals:
My goals are really aesthetics. I think I’d like to get down to 185 and then re-evaluate. I’d also like to get more flexible, so I might add in some stretches and/or yoga.
Cliffs:
-185lb-230lb from college to desk job
-currently 205
-Running Chris Gethin’s 12 week workout at 500+ cal. deficit
-Goal to hit 185

Hello,
I am one of those 150+ entries who did not make it anymore into the competition with their 1st Jan submission but have been following the thread and would like to stick around to prove to myself that I would have been able to make it!
1st week -2.5 lbs and I am quite happy with that.
I am following a 1500 kcal diet, building the habit of tracking my intake on myfitnesspal and working out every other day.
Happy losing to all!

Hope everyone had a great week.
I regained the weight I lost during the last competition,
although I know some of it was due to hormones.
But most of it was because I slipped during the holidays
and went back to my old eating habits.
I was frustrated with myself, but I refused to
keep slipping and getting worse.
I am re-focused and getting back on track,
with clean eating and exercising.
I am determined to make better health a lifestyle,
and this new competition will help me stay focused.
Have a great week everyone!

Craaaaaaaaaaaazy, even after a little over one week of eating healthy I feel so much better! Stupid, dumb, easy access fast food is so bloody addicting. I'm to the point where I can turn down that stuff if offered to me. Yay, going to make this competition one for the ages.

+1 for the week.
Not even remotely upset about it. Spent the week starting on creatine, so some gain was expected. I was still in a deficit all the way through, next week should show some results on the scale again. First experience with creatine ever, looking forward to seeing how it works out for me.
Congrats to everyone who worked hard in the kitchen (and less importantly, the gym) this week. Stay strong and keep going.
