Happy New Year everyone. Today we officially get started here in the Losing Fat Competition. I want to welcome you all for entering and I sincerely hope that I see you at the end. Use this thread as motivation, to keep each other motivated and to strive to achieve your own goals. I hope to see each and every one of you at the finish line.
So, just a few things. First of all, I regret to inform you all that I cannot accept anymore submissions. We have over 150 entrants, and that is more than my inbox can handle. With each new competition, I learn something new and this will be a reminder that next time I'll have to cap it at 150.
Secondly, I really need you guys to pay attention to how you submit your entries. YOU NEED TO PLACE YOUR SUBMISSION NAME AND WEIGHT IN THE SUBJECT LINE PLEASE.
Let me repeat that in case you didn't get it the first time YOU MUST PLACE YOUR NAME AND WEIGHT IN THE SUBJECT LINE.
Also, if you could guys submit in POUNDS and not KILOGRAMS, that would be nice (saves me the math). If you can't, don't worry about it.
Lastly, if you do not make the first submission (January 6, 2013) you will be ELIMINATED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
I don't think I'm asking much here..but am still getting a LOT of people submitting incorrectly. So please, just save me the hassle and follow my simple instructions.
Alright guys, good luck to you all. Just a heads up; only about the top 10-15% make it to the end in these competitions. That means that less than 20 of you will statistically make it to the end.
There's some food for thought.
Have a wonderful day.

Hey guys, I won't post the pics here because they're huge, but I was looking to get a BF% estimate so I have an idea of where I am for a starting point this time around.
If you take the time to check it out and give me an estimate, then thanks in advance .

10-15% make it to the end. That is unbelievable but has made me more determined to make it to the end. Just sorted out my diet on myfitnesspal. Going for 1600kcal a day with 140p/140c/50f and see where that takes me.

So pumped for this, looking at the range of weights present in this comp, I tell myself there is no reason why we all can't lose at LEAST 20lbs in 3 months (provided that's in line with your goals). Having lost 20lbs before in a similar timeframe, and knowing what a big difference that made in so many aspects of life, I can only imagine what another 20lbs would feel like come April.
Hoping for 100% retention!
...Also noticed some of you are missing 1-20 from your copy paste sig :P

Had my last few beers on NYE. I'm still sore from the workouts I had a few days ago, but not to the point where I can't move as I already got past that stage. The booze did make me look more vascular and I probably lost about 7 pounds of water weight. It's all false losses though. Ready to hit the gym soon. I'll probably walk on the treadmill for about 45 minutes.

Technical issue: just wondering if anyone could help? Does anyone else have a very large horizontal scroll bar or is it just me? Only seems to be happening on this thread. On up-to-date Google Chrome, it's not a big issue but just a minor annoyance.

I'm going to go against the grain a little and say it might not be a bad thing to start with the higher cals then drop, just based on personal experience. The reason is an extreme sudden drop in calories may eventually trigger that deprivation thing that can for some of us be fanatical. I've gone on all out binges when that happens, and I'm not normally a binge eater. Then comes the fall off the wagon and the guilt that comes with it.
Seeing as how you have already dropped the cals significantly, at the first sign that you may think you can't maintain it, increase it a bit and be ok with it. Want to see you here at the end of the challenge for sure and in the next one, I'll be here there too.
Goals:
ST:300
LT:200
High:335
