he has been lifting for six months but its a start isnt it, saying that it takes years is right. You cant just go to the gym then walk out like ronnie coleman. You also cant ask someone for advice then when they give it talk back to them, not cool broseph.
As for the routine, i would say ditch it and use something that is on the forum. You need to balance Back/Biceps and Chest/Triceps, just having big arms is not the way to do it. Use a proper routine, you can do the cardio if you want but do it immediately after your workouts, not the next day otherwise you are just being counterproductive. Make sure you eat loads and be patient about it, to start with you wont notice as much difference as you might hope for but a year down the line you will be pretty happy that you got a proper routine and stuck with it.
Also if you want to build muslce and not gain fat, weigh yourself and work out how tall you are, then use an online calculator to work out how many calories you need a day, eat that and an excess of about 200-300, then you should put on muscle without much fat.
As for how long you will be waiting, with the right attitude and 'dedication' (dont question it) you will get results and should start noticing it yourself within 2 months. Everyone else should start to notice after 3 months or so.
If you really want to make your own routine, look into how to go about doing that first, make sure you are doing it right instead of just doing what you hope is right.

Monday;Legs & Back & Abs
Tuesday; Cardio
Wednesday; Biceps & Triceps & Abs
Thursday; Cardio
Friday;Chest & Shoulders & Abs
Saturday;Cardio
Sunday;Biceps & Triceps & Abs
Wednesday, friday, sunday alternate e.g. wednesday - chest & shoulders
friday - biceps & triceps
sunday - chest & shoulders
when would i start to see changes in my body
Lifting for a week and you start with a 4 day split? Go back and do some research on what is proven to work well for beginners, and you don't need to train abs 4 times a week , twice a week 15min is my suggestion (abs mostly diet not working out). As for visible changes depends how dedicated you are to workouts, how hard you push yourself, and how well your diet is , but i'd say 3-6months.
