"Israel should have exploited the repression of the demonstrations in China,
when world attention focused on that country, to carry out mass expulsions among the Arabs of the territories."

lol nice try...Even the Indians know during the 60's-70's Pakistan was doing economically and socially much better than India. Even now with good governance there can be rapid growth.
This is Dadu....you tell me.
-----
At the end of the day things like this will keep happening. Rule of law is a problem and this is why things like this keep happening. The problem is worse in rural hamlets....No point in bothering to argue with retards on the internet about it. It's something that will be fixed in the future with education, rule of law, and good governance.
Funny though how what happens to the Rohingyas doesn't get any attention here but one man who was murdered in Pakistan gets so much attention from you guys.Last edited by NoFXN; 12-22-2012 at 01:12 PM.

Typical westerner that thinks he knows everything about the rest of the world. How many people have been sentenced to death by the Pakistani state? Not to mention the fact that the death penalty is suspended in the countries civilian courts currently. Most people charged under the blasphemy laws are actually Muslims and everyone wins the appeal even if they do get convicted.
The irony is that this law was added to the penal code in 1860 by the British. And the British did hang people for violating it!
In Israel, blasphemy is covered by Articles 170 and 173 of the penal code.[29][30]
Insult to religion 170. If a person destroys, damages or desecrates a place of worship or any object which is held sacred by a group of persons, with the intention of reviling their religion, or in the knowledge that they are liable to deem that act an insult to their religion, then the one is liable to three years imprisonment. Injury to religious sentiment 173. If a person does any of the following, then the one is liable to one year imprisonment: (1) One publishes a publication that is liable to crudely offend the religious faith or sentiment of others; (2) One voices in a public place and in the hearing of another person any word or sound that is liable to crudely offend the religious faith or sentiment of others.
The law is traced back to the British High Commission "The Abuse and Vilification (religious invective) Order No. 43 of 1929", enacted in efforts to suppress the 1929 Palestine riots. The order contained the language: "Any person who utters a word or sound in public or within earshot of any other person that may be or is intended to offend his religious sensitivities or faith can expect to be found guilty and eligible for a one-year jail sentence." Why does it need to be changed? Essentially the law is never upheld considering convictions have always been acquited on appeal. The law is there to keep the peace and prevent actions like mob justice. If you take away the laws you will see more mob justice.
lol at generalizing 180 million people as retarded...American arrogance of peace. Also enjoying the anti-islam comments in the thread considering there is no basis in Islam for blasphemy laws. Especially, killing someone over it!

Seriously? Are you like 12?
-------------
They are so many ironies when it comes to this law. Like the fact the extreme brands of Islam like Wahabbi/Deobandi get penalized the most by it. Barelvi's strongly dislike these brands of Islam and see them as foreign to the traditional religious landscape of the region.

You're right, it's not the fault of the Pakistani's for brutally torturing a man by burning him alive.
It's the fault of the British for putting a long-unused penal code into place over 150 years ago. Is that what the Pakistani authorities told you to believe? Colonialism still makes a convenient scapegoat for those too incompetent to govern their own people.
Also, thanks for negging me for my earlier comment. Umad civilized India has a strong and growing economy, while Pakistan remains as an ungovernable embarrassment to humanity?

Because, given that these winners previously tried to hunt down and kill a mentally retarded girl, it's not working. And don't try to tell me there's no problem, either. If you get one idiot acting the dickhead like this, you don't have a problem. When a couple thousand of your inbred countrymen all think this sort of thing is a Really Good Idea, then you have a problem.

Yes, and what happened in that case? The guy who made the allegation is currently facing trial for his false claims. The girl and her family is safe in Pakistan's Government's custody. Not exactly a great example of trying to make the point that the basis behind the law isn't working.
The system worked how it should in this case, and she was given a lot of support from the establishment. Also if you had actually read my posts instead of just commenting blindly as usual you would have realized I mentioned this was a rule of law problem.
Nice job with the strawman fallacy, I never blamed it on the British but facts are facts even if you have trouble swallowing it. I bet you don't know a single thing about British colonialism in British India and the after affects.
You consistently make ignorant posts, a neg well deserved.

Way to completely miss the point in your demented tribalism.
If you can convince a couple of thousand people that it's a good idea to kill a mentally retarded girl because of what she may or may not have done to a book, then you have a problem. If you can convince a couple of thousand people that it's a good idea to kill a mentally retarded girl because of what she may or may not have done to a book, then the law is failing.
Pretty simple equation.
I'll just go try and find my give a fck, shall I?My personal pronouns are: Don't talk to me/Fck off
