RSP Nutrition's ReGen: Life support for your muscles

BCAA consumption is beneficial for anyone looking to increase lean muscle mass.* Research has suggested the results provided by BCAAs are far superior to heavy protein consumption because of the greater bioavailability of free form amino acids and the faster absorption rate.* ReGen is arguably one of the most bioavailable BCAA products on the market due to unique complementary ingredients contained in ReGen such as pyridoxine Hydrochloride and Agmatine Sulfate.* These ingredients, along with several others unique to ReGen, allow you to utilize a higher percentage of the ingested BCAAs than taking BCAAs alone by maximizing delivery.

First off, I would like to thank RSP for letting me have the chance to log this great product. This isn't my first time trying this product, and even after this bottle it will not be my last time using. Throughout this log, I will show how ReGen is helping me in my workouts and keeping my body going through my first real cutting phase ever.

As of right now, I am doing Kris Gethin's 12 week program to cut my weight down. Since November, I have been at two thanksgivings, a week a disney world with a full meal plan, and have left GA for Baton Rouge, Memphis, and Houston all in a little over a month. Not only did that include living out of fast food restaurants, but little to no gym time as well.

Thankfully, I am now on a workout plan and have ReGen to get me through these next weeks. Every day will consist of 2 carido sessions at least 20 minutes long. Also, I will lift around 5 days a week. With healthy eating cut back to small portions, I will need the maximum recovery and protein absorption as possible, and this is where ReGen will kick in.

    Day 6

First off, as to not confuse anyone else, I am starting these days off as to where I am in my workouts.
Today is only my 2 cardio sessions, and I only have one left. But the good thing about ReGen is that even when I'm not lifting, drinking this BCAA supplement still has positive effects on my body.

For a second though, I would like to talk about the shaker RSP sent me.

I absolutely love this shaker. It is made with a clear hard plastic, so you see everything. The top is very secure, and there is no chance for leaking. But my favorite part is actually the mouth piece. Most shakers, they are very wide so you can down a drink. This one however is around the size of a water bottle, which is great. I am constantly drinking water in my classes, but would look like a complete retard using it. With this one though, it is small enough to wear you can just sip on your drink if you want to.
Anyone who is in class and wants to save some money, just buy this bottle. While your on campus, just fill up at the water fountain. Within a weeks time you have already saved money.

Just got done with the second cardio for the day.
I started drinking around 15 minutes before, and my legs stayed fresh the entire time.
Also, I do my own abs, and got that in today too.

I described the taste on a review, but will talk about it on here too.
The ReGen flavor I got was Watermelon. I love how they did this flavor too. You get a great watermelon taste, but it is not overly sweet. I have had many intra workouts that are so sweet, during a hard workout where you are sweating it is almost a turnoff. Do not get that from ReGen though.

    Day 7
    Legs

Today is legs, and I'm trying to get this done before the falcons game. Have already done my first cardio session for the day, and my legs already want to shut down.
The great thing about ReGen is that it is giving me the max amount of protein absorption possible with the little amount of food intake I am getting during the days. I had a trial bottle already, so I have already taken 1 scoop of ReGen, just to give my legs the best chance of hitting the workout hard today.

Also, I am doing this cutting cycle, every Sunday I do a weigh in and take pictures. Now, hopefully I will get some more interest in this log, and I will start posting them upon request. But since I did gain a good amount of weight, I am 100% embarrassed to post them.
However, my initial weight at the 1/13 was 222 pounds. Today on 1/20, I am at 214 pounds.
But after the workouts I will post how legs day went.

    So today was legs day.
I will start out with it, then talk later

    Superset
    Leg extensions/Hamstring Curls

    2 sets- 30/20 reps, 90/70 lbs

    Superset
    Walking Lunges/Standing Leg curls

    3 sets- 40/15 reps, 60/30

    Leg Press
    1 set- 50 reps, 180 lbs
    1 set- 50 reps, 270 lbs
    1 set- 50 reps, 310 lbs

    Superset
    Leg extensions/Hamstring curls

    1 set- 30/20 reps, 90/90

This was followed immediately by 20 minutes on the elliptical.

I knew this was going to be a rough day, so I did 1 1/2 scoops before I went to the gym. This ended up being close to a 2 hour workout as well.
From the first set, I started to hurt from the constant cardio every day. However, I was able to go harder and harder on every set. I was very surprised I was able to keep adding weight on the leg press since I was doing 50 reps, so that was good.

Currently not really too sore. My butt does hurt a little, but that big ole thing needed to be worked anyways.
Was very happy with being able to go that hard for that long in the gym, and have to think that ReGen was a large reason why. Being able to go that long after eating little and losing a bunch of weight is nothing to ride off.

Will report tomorrow and the next day of the level of soreness. Only my second legs workout in months and feeling good as of now.

    Day 8
    Chest & Tri's

So no soreness at all today. I was mainly feeling it in my lower butt/upper legs, but today it is like a fresh new morning.

So like everyday, I started my morning out with cardio. Nothing ever to intense to the point I can catch my breathe. Since most morning I don't have time to go to the gym, and it has been to cold for me to jog, I hit up the kinect.

But now lets get into this long workout. Also, every set that is not a warm-up, is done to failure. And I do mean every set. And once I change into cables, I did drop sets. The only rest from the last set to the drop set was to change the weights.

    Dumbbell bench

    Warm-ups: 2 sets, 10 reps, 60 lbs
    1 set: 8 reps, 90 lbs
    1 set: 8 reps, 95 lbs

    Flat dumbbell incline flyes
    Warmups: 1 set, 10 reps, 35 pounds
    1 set: 8 reps, 45 lbs
    1 set: 8 reps, 50 lbs
    1 set: 8 reps, 55 lbs

Incline cable flyes (lbs per each arm0
    Warmups: 1 set, 10 reps, 35 lbs
    1 set: 10 reps, 55 lbs
    1 set: 8 reps, 65 lbs
Drop set: 10 reps, 35 lbs

Decline Cable cross overs (lbs per each arm)
    Warmup: 1 set, 8 reps, 25 lbs
    2 sets: 8 reps, 35 lbs
Drop set: 10 reps, 25 lbs

    Tricep pushdowns
    Warm-up sets: 10 reps, 40 lbs
    1 set: 16 reps, 70 lbs
    2 set: 16 reps, 85 lbs
Drop set: 10 reps, 40 lbs

Reverse cable pushdowns (lbs per each arm)
    Warmups: 8 reps, 20 lbs
    1 set: 18 reps, 30 lbs
    1 set: 16 reps, 35 lbs
    Dropset: 10 reps, 15 lbs

    Giant Set
    Head smackers/Nose breakers/Rockers

    3 sets: 7/7/7 reps, 50 lbs

By my giant set, I was spent. I am surprised to get as far as I did honestly. The giant set each time took me around 2-3 minutes to complete because of how hard it was on my body. I now wish I had a gym bag and brought ReGen with me to help me through it. I had finished mine by the first triceps workout was over.

But this is what this product is meant for. Being able to push your past your limits, and then some. Especially for those workouts where you don't have long rest breaks. If you keep moving and like to get a sweat in the gym from lifting, then this product ends up being the perfect supplement.

    Day 9
    Rest

Now just because it is a rest day, does it mean I can rest. Every day is two cardios, and even on the rest day it does not stop. Not much to report here. But just because it is a rest day, does it mean you should sit on the couch and do nothing.
So here is what I did with my time off today.

Well thats really it for today. Tomorrow is shoulders.

    Day 10
    Shoulders

Today ended up being a rough day. Twerked my right shoulder from the get go, so the whole day I was fighting through pain.
I would like to comment more on ReGen for today, but it was hard to notice any effects with the pain. But here we go anyways. And again, anything that isn't a warmup is to failure, so I try to adjust the weights accordingly. Sometimes the first set isn't the right weight, so you see a good size increase in weights from one set to the next

Smith Machine Overhead Press (behind the neck)
    Warmup- 2 sets, 10 reps, 90 lbs
    1 set- 8 reps, 135
    1 set- 8 reps, 185
    1 set- 6 reps, 205

    Machine Shoulder Press (1 arm)
    Warmup- 1 set, 10 reps, 45 lbs
    3 sets- 8 reps, 70 lbs

    Superset
Side Lat Raise/Sit Lat Raise (starting behind back)

1 Warmup set of regular lat raise, 15 lbs.
    1 set- 12/12 reps, 25/15 lbs
    1 set- 12/12 reps, 30/20 lbs
    1 set- 12/13 reps, 25/15 lbs

    Dumbbell shrugs (lbs per arm0
    Warmups- 1 set, 10 reps, 70 lbs
    1 set- 16 reps, 90 lbs
    1 set- 14 reps, 95 lbs
    1 set- 12 reps, 100 lbs

This last exercise Kris Gethin calls a FST-7. You do 7 reps. You only have 30 seconds to rest between each set, and during that rest you must be flexing or stretching the muscle that you are working out.

Reverse Machine Flyes (lbs per arm)
    Warmup- 1 set, 10 reps, 15 lbs
    7 set- 15 reps, 25 lbs

I stayed light on the last workout. One, because my arm was hurting and two, because I wasn't using any handles, instead I was gripping by the ball that connects the cable to the clip. Again, I would love to report more from today, but the entire time I was thinking about the pain in my shoulder and it sorta showed in the workout.

    Day 11

Want to apologize to RSP for not posting anything yesterday.
Trying to help get my parents house for sale and did a lot of work yesterday, so I skipped calves and did abs later. Still got in my 2 cardios though.

Also, I have recently found out there is a lot of hate for this program I am on.
1st, I am not buying all the supplements he is saying to. It is a waste of money.
2nd, I am using the outline of his diet, and then making it into my own.
3rd, Every program is different. Some people on this board might be to "advance" for this kind of workout, but it works great for me because my body needed a change. Throwing something 100% different at your body is good, and that is what this program is doing for me. Lifting wise, I hit a plateau and even started getting unmotivated. If anything, this has at least gotten me excited to workout every day again.

Now, done with that rant. Lets move back to ReGen. This is a belated post, so today I will have another.
Today is back & bis day. Shoulder still hurting a tad bit, so my load will be lighter.

    Day 12

Today was an okay day working out. Had a lot on my mind with people coming to look at the house and trying to think about school work due, but here we go.

Today was a good workout regardless of my mind being very preoccupied. Could tell I was having muscle breakdown by the second to last workout, but was able to keep pushing through. Tomorrow, will post some facts about BCAA supplements to help all get a better understanding of these kinds of products.

Pretty long week. With 2 cardios a day too, you can see why I kept the workout light today.
During the workout, I didn't really feel much with ReGen. I need to start sipping on it maybe 10 minutes before I get to the gym to get some better work in.
However, when I did my cardio a few hours later, my legs felt fresh as a daisy. I was very surprised with that, so even though I didn't get the effects while I was lifting, I did when I went to run later.

    Day 16
    Back and Bi's

Had a very short workout today, my stepdad has seizures from his ptsd and can't drive, and he had a Dr. appointment at the only time I could go. So today was a big of a hybrid day.

    Reverse grip pulldowns
    Warmup- 1 set, 10 reps, 100 lbs
    3 sets- 12 reps, 140 lbs

    Lat pulldowns
    1 set- 12 reps, 140 lbs
    1 set- 12 reps, 160 lbs
    1 set- 12 reps, 180 lbs

    Bent over rows
    2 sets- 15 reps, 135 lbs
    1 set- 18 reps, 185 lbs

    Alternating curls
5 sets- 12 reps (each arm), 40 lbs

That was really it. Only had 40 minutes to work with max. So couldn't get the full feel for ReGen. Will have a two day break from lifting, which is much needed but will keep posting and since I still have cardio twice a day and abs coming up.

    Day 18
    Shoulders and calves

Had to push up all workouts a day early due to having to travel next week.

    Superset
    Side lat raises/Front lat raises

    2 sets- 15/15 reps, 20 lbs
    1 set- 15/15 reps, 25 lbs

    Machine shoulder press (hammer grip)
    warmup- 1 set, 10 reps, 90 lbs
    1 set- 15 reps, 140 lbs
    1 set- 13 reps, 160 lbs
    1 set- 12 reps, 180 lbs

    Seated dumbbell bent over rows
    7 sets- 15 reps, 40 lbs
(30 second rest between each set)

    Standing calf raises
    5 sets- 20 reps, 140 lbs

Today was a great day in the gym. I was able to go hard on everything, and wasn't sore at all or down or crashing, so I did about 10 minutes worth of cardio. Now that I am getting ReGen in my body daily, my body is really starting to utilize it better than it did before.

    1 set- 14 reps, 60 lbs
    1 set- 14 reps, 65 lbs

    Machine Preacher Curls

    3 sets- 10 reps/80 lbs, 10 reps/70 lbs, 8 reps/45 lbs

    EZ curl bar
    4 sets- 10 reps, 70 lbs

Long workout today. I was able to get through everything, which was big for me. Still going on little food, and big workouts. Down 18 lbs so far in this transformation, and supplementation has become very helpful.
