That sucks. I'd love to help you but I haven't even got the slightest clue what it could be :\
Do you know what might've caused it? Could it be something to do with the rotator cuff?

EDIT: Came across this, might be helpful to you in one way or another:

Idk man i feel like this one time the day after doing lateral raises my shoulder was kinda as if it strained.. like it was very very very sore but also felt like everythings not right..
And i feel like my shoulders / the spot where the shoulders end and start to go down is way more tender than it use to be.. I srsly have NO idea what this could be either..

EDIT: Googled "Shoulder burning sensation" and it could be shoulder tendinitis.. phuck!

I have had a slight, very slight burn sensation in my shoulder for a time, also the tenderness that you are talking about. Tell you the truth it kinda just went away on it's own, started doing shoulder dislocations with a broom stick and took like a week off from benching. Might just be knots in the muscle causing it to press against nerves n chit. ice that bastard and massage the crap out of it with some shoulder dislocations and a little rest from movements that have to do with the shoulder. If it still bothering you and is not getting better with rest see a dr. dude

How about when you were lifting? Alot of my back exercises burn alot on my shoulders ( rows especially ).
the burn is pretty slight on average day activities.

That'd be a good idea. Do you normally do warmup sets before your first shoulder movement when lifting?

Static stretching also causes a cooling effect on muscles
    SQ: 225x5 (High-bar ATG)
    DL: 295x5/315x1

"Many basic or compound exercises (e.g. squat, bench press, etc.) have a bell shaped resistance curves or shift the resistance through multiple muscle groups throughout the exercise's range of motion allowing the muscles to momentarily relax between repetitions. This period of momentary relaxation between repetitions allows greater opportunity for momentary blood flow permitting the clearing of acid accumulation."

Try some anterior/posterior capsule stretches, but I must warn you to use caution when performing them and don't just start cranking.
