I'm not sure if this is where this should be posted so if it is not mods feel free to move it.
I just got a call and was asked to do a shoot on December 26th. I'm full swing on a bulk right now and I'm sitting at 9ish%. What would you recommend i do as far as water cutting? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be beneficial to start eating at a significant deficit because less than 1 week is not enough time to lose any fat.
How should i approach sodium, water, and carb manipulations leading up to Wednesday? I've searched for threads, but the only preparation posts i could find start at like 6 months prior to a show.
thanks

Honestly, I don't think sodium, water, or carb manipulation is all that effective unless bodyfat is closer to 6%. That being said, you would likely be best off by simply following a nice healthy diet, with no foods that could cause bloat (high in sodium or if you are lactose intolerant stay away from dairy). Other than that, keep your carbs in and muscles pumped and full. Not sure what you look like, but I would imagine 9% is quite acceptable and shows very good ab definition for your average "model"

I agree ^ there is no point in swinging sodium and carbs around at 9% BF. You might benefit slightly from a carb deplete if you are in full bulk mode and youre riding the line of full/spilled. Deplete the carbs in the few days prior and then slight bump before the shoot. It wont make much difference at the BF % but its probably worth the small effort. I wouldnt touch sodium or water except to keep them constant....but i wouldnt do that at 4% BF either.

Ok, thanks guys. I think I'll do the carb depletion and see how that goes. How exactly should it be structured? I'll post some pics as well so you can get an idea of where im at. Typically my body reacts very well to carbs so im not sure if that matters when determining the depletion and loading ratios.
