Human Genius
'1975'.
Could have gone either way. I liked Lou's proportions and balance compared to Serge's but Serge was polished, detailed and could pose.

Oh right, he did beat Lou!
Carry on.
I don't know if this falls into the category but I heard prostate isn't kept healthy if constant pressure is done on it, I heard it is one of issues for many bikers. Not sure if the pressure from heavy military press puts many pressure on prostate, but according to my personal experience, I think it does, if I sit straight on the bench instead of sitting like inclined bench manner (I can feel the pressure around my prostate if I am sitting vertically with heavy military press)

Bart check out this film, it has the results in it, pretty good for bodybuilders. It's called "Pumping Iron."

agreed. I would have Lou ahead, but either way is fine.
Sidenote - dang, Arnold is pwning them. Like i already know from watching Pumping Iron, but even these pics are impressive. Arnold really won on conditioning, and he had some things where they were kinda missing on the other guys (calves, for example). His christmas tree is in full effect, and strong glute ham tie-ins. I know they weren't judged so much back in the day, but it's definitely gotta sit well with the judges when the other guys are sorta flat there in comparison to Arnold's man-booty, lol. You can tell it's muscle, too. Not to mention his quad separation being the most dominant on stage there. Such a dominant victory.
"...that's the great virtue of the free market, of the private market. It enables people...who hate one another...who don't speak the same language...who would fight one another if they had the chance, to cooperate economically. We were able to deal with China when China was a communist state. Even though we thought that that was a terrible arrangement, we could still cooperate. And that's what markets enable people to do. They bring freedom with them."

Lol at arnold pacing in the background.
And his quads look good in that front relaxed. I like the old version of the front and rear relaxed, now a days it doesn't in any way reflect "relaxed" lol. In fact I think it looks pretty stupid half the time, especially when guys like branch have their arms parallel to the ground to create an "illusion"

Those 3 guys had amazing genetics. And then i think of Sergio Oliva who had even better.

Arnold himself said that Lou, with the right mindset, could've beaten him. Lou was probably the most genetically gifted bber of the 70s.

I always preferred Lou over Arnold, but i don't see how he could have ever beaten Arnold even with a better mindset (wich actually he could've had in his early 20's when he turned pro, for all we know).

Bigger and better proportions than Arnold, his disadvantages were his conditioning and softer personality.

What i meant was he would have never beaten arnold because they only fought twice at the olympia and arnold retired until 1980. I do think that lou would have legitimately overcome arnold if they both competed until say 77-78 of course, but that's a strong "if".

Haha, this thread is so f*cked, I made it while editing css and I literally did not think about anything.

Not sure about that really, Arnold still had room to grow... I believe his classic line "So he comes in big, well I just get bigger" or something along the lines of. The year before in '74 Arnold was a beast, had he have prepped and worked properly for '75 he could've been improved. Who knows how high the doses would've gone had he continued to compete against a threat like Lou; as said, he already still had much potential for growth and development.
