The fact that you can't find a poverty desk and chair is rustling my jimmies.
Get off the god damn floor, this is exactly why you can't make any gains. You're too close to the floor 24/7 and it sucks the gains out of you.

Who's that mariel of who you and Moore speak? If that's Mariel with the catfish, and she's a tarp, that's some good work.

It just occurred to me that the show is old news to you guys. I haven't watched much MTV lately and only recently became aware of the ads for the show.

It's super effective"The hardship of the exercises is intended less to strengthen the back than to toughen the mind. The Spartans say that any army may win while it still has it's legs under it; the real test comes when all strength has fled and the men must produce victory on will alone." (Pressfield,1998, p.78)

The latest research in muscle memory (cellular memory and not cns memory) looks pretty promising for us lifters. When strength training you increase the cell nuclei in the muscle fibers (muscle cells are "special" and supports several nuclei)
they thought the extra nuclei would self destruct when the muscle was not used anymore (muscle loss) , but with the new research that was just recently tested again shows that when you get muscle loss you dont lose the extra cell nuclei.
Instead its connectivity tissue and stem cells that are lost, while the extra cell nuclei stays (study show anything from 10 years to permanently)
and when you start training again after muscle loss you gain the muscle back at a far faster rate since the extra nuclei are already there and can rapidly start synthesizing new protein to build muscle mass and strength.
Studies done in mice tho, but if their muscle is anything like ours it should go for us as well , they are trying to get funding for human studies now.
In the studies they had 2 groups of mice, one got strength training and one didnt , then they waited for muscle loss while keeping them inactive. And then they proceeded with 6 weeks muscle training again, and the group with previous strength training had a 30% muscle increase , while the other group had 6%.
Going to be interesting to see what the human studies show. One interesting thing they found was that juicing a group of mice up they got added muscle cell nuclei while being inactive(no training at all).
