I don't think they are actually implants, I think it's synthol.

    EAT dammit

SS is ok, it focuses on getting your squat up, other lifts will lag behind and you will eventually need to add more volume down the line. Its good for girls if they want DAT ASS, but expect to not progress after awhile when on a deficit. Not poking fun at you lady, but so many idiots wonder why they are obese (people on /fit/) and stall out so quick...herp derp, eat more. But then they cant make gains because...they cant eat more on a deficit.
It will get you to your noobie gain limits quickly, after that, pick something else so you arent grinding the same thing out week after week since progress will be limited...IF you hit your CNS/noob gain peak quickly.

There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

I've already been doing convict conditioning for a few months. I have a gym that I can go to now so I'm trying to make the most of it by using Olympic lifts too. As for reading less, I like knowing as much as possible to make the most of resources / time available to me. Have missed out on a lot of knowledge by assuming I knew everything the last time I was in shape, so trying to do it more intelligently this time around.

Thanks Serp...it makes sense to increase calorie intake if you really want to see gains from lifting. Glad you said something because I was going to decrease even more! Have not fully decided if I want to do SS or not...was trying to see if it was worth looking into since I heard a few people talk about it and found a PDF. Was considering doing it for 6 weeks and then reassessing. What do you think would be a good program to do after a basic program like SS? I'm pretty unaware of the different routines out there...before I used to just use nautilus machines and do random circuits -.-.

Lmao @ motorcycletard...would have been pissed if that was my car

If you do that program you will want to add lifting to it. Someone had a post, Jason?, that added lifts. Inclined curls, abs, hypers, skulls and CG bench. Not sure if that is 100% right.

I did it for a while, but just can't handle Squats. May try again soon enough but no matter which way I did them, it killed my knees.

My main goal is strength and am looking for full body movements vs. aesthetic bodybuilding lifts like curls and such...so not too sure about adding anything to it. Hoping to do mostly Olympic lifts and body weight exercises. Am thinking about rotating mesocycles where I do lifts for 6 weeks, then bodyweight for 6 weeks because I heard that it's overkill to train the two at the same time...don't know enough to be sure yet.

The problem with the basic program as Serp said, is that body parts lag way behind. Also as you start lower weights you'll be spinning your wheels for weeks. That is how I felt anyway. Especially on a cut, you'll start to stall at levels that really don't do much for you.

Part of the program is to eat, lots and often. You'll need the energy to make significant gains but that obviously doesn't go well with a cut.

    I see what you're saying...

Seems like I might have to reassess diet, or take minimal gains while cutting... maybe just focus on higher reps to strengthen joints / tendons for heavier lifts once I go back to maintenance?

Fuark, not sure what to do

Isn't that down to the higher carbs and calorie surplus? Is your weight going up?

vasodilation from higher carbohydrate intake/insulin, muscle filled up with water/glycogen.

It's going up but I think it's just mostly water weight bouncing around, seemed to be going well then suddenly the other day I lost near 5 lbs. So after that water loss, im up 4 lbs since start of bulk 3 weeks ago, probably mostly water atleast im guessing so since its been doing 1-2 lbs jumps overnight then stable for a week and jumps again (I should prolly stay off the scales )

My diet today has consisted of a breakfast sandwich and cheese pastry, a double cheeseburger, a bag of jerky, and 6 beers.

Yeah, I feel bloated, irritable, and guilty.

Oly lifts are some of the best things you can do. You have to have a solid foundation and a good kinesthetic awareness though before you should go after them. I would work on a solid foundation of your basic compounds (lots of emphasis on deads/squats but dont leave out bench/pullup/etc.) IIRC you've been doing BW only for a while right? I would go after the basics first and then get into O lifting in a bit. IMHO

    ahem.

Mind you this was when I first started SS and was still in my early stages of squatting. Max is 350 @ 185. (form is far from perfect. It was posted in the Exercise section for critique)

I just don't squat that heavy anymore, I rep 135 12-15x6 sets when I squat these days.

oh, and serp, didnt at one point you only able to rep 165 BP x1 ? (that's my 2nd warmup set x10 weight on bench )

Yea I find Olympic lifts very appealing...deads, squats, bench, and pullups are the type of thing I was looking to do to start, eventually moving to cleans and snatches by spring time.

Have been doing CC for 3 months and before that was doing timed body weight circuits, about 4 months total of exercising. I know it's not an incredibly long time but feel much more strong than when I started. Lifted weights religiously before I got pregnant and had been lifting off and on since high school. Am thinking that I still have a lot of the muscle that was built...just needs to be re-established from a diminished state if that makes sense.

Went to the gym yesterday and did 85lbs 3 x 3 on bench press with decent form...last time I did BP was high school. Isn't that decent for a woman and considering the length of time? Could be wrong but I don't know too many girls who can even press a bar lol. I'm very conscious of keeping tension, focusing breathing and driving force...been working with kettle bells as well so my hips / shoulders have been getting specific attention. Air squats are way too easy...can do 100 reps in a circuit without too much trouble. Fee like I'm ready to take on the barbell.
