Tried that. Then realized abs on a skinny dude are like tits on a fat chick. So, decided to lean bulk, because I have little to no muscle mass to speak of.
I mean, I'd have had to go down to 130 lbs or something to be completely rid of the fat in my midsection. With no real abs to speak of, that would have been a waste of time.
Inorite?

I don't get much from in the way of doms from it.
Set at 90 (to make sure nothing is going to pop)
Set at 135
Set at 210
Set at 255 (machines max)
Set at 255 to failure 6-10 reps
One leg 2 sets 90 or 110 to failure about 8 reps
Fine a few minutes later...
Go home and a few hours later ride exercise bike for 30 mins.
I see a dude add plates to the machine on the pin. Next time I see him do it, I need to figure out how he's doing it as I will need to add some weight in the future.

My opinion is who cares? It's only temporary. I have friends that are 6 foot 125 pounds. Yeah they look like rails but nobody stares at them weird. I'd rather cut all my fat off and look skinny for half a year(or more) than try to bulk at 20-25% which is ridiculous.
Every time I sat down I'd have a huge roll of fat busting out of my gut instead of a huge roll of skin. I could feel my double chin when I tucked my chin in and stood up with good posture. My arms looked like cylinders with no definition.
I'd rather look like I don't lift (which you or me don't look like anyways); so you might as well finish the cut.
The last pic I saw of you, you were even pudgier than me and I felt bad when I tried to bulk. You're at an even worse position!
Edit:
But of course you're gonna' get the guys with plenty of LBM saying "just bulk if you're skinny fat, you need to" without ever being in the situation.
Or the guys who say "if you bulk the increased musculature will make you look leaner even if you don't lose fat". (Bull crap IMHO unless you're 12-15% and untrained) Anything above that or if you have at least some visible muscle, you'll still look like a lard ass. Have fun with that massive cut when you're finished with your bulk and you're sitting at 25-30%Last edited by moore93; 01-07-2013 at 11:17 AM.

GUYS.
MY COCCYX HURTS.
Seriously.....think about it for a moment...
When doing dumbbell lunges, my tailbone feels a sharp pain that hurts like 8/10 pain. 10 being kicked in the nuts, 1 being in a tickle fight with moore.
wat do?There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

If kicked in the nuts is a 10 your scale either goes to 4000 or you're a pussy who never experienced any real pain.

Have you seen a chiro for your lower back issues? The root cause of most lower back pain is muscle imbalance, be it strength or flexibility. I get an adjustment once per week and stretch once per day and my back is feeling better than it has in years. Maybe something you should look into.

Dude, this is how I used to look in high school vs. how I look now:
In both the pictures, I'm wearing a "small" t-shirt. I probably weighed ~100 lbs in the first pic. I do *not* want to look like that ever again. I hate getting fat, but I hate being skinny even more.
The only way I am going to add mass is by adding some amount of fat, which seems inevitable. But I am incredibly wary of cutting to the point where I look like the stick that I used to.

my back healed about 95% for the most part, after getting my squat and deads back up to near what they were its sore so im deloading and learning my limits. my legs are so overdeveloped compared to the rest of my body, especially my glutes. I wonder if its pulling down on something, my back in my weak point for sure.

uwotm8? You have big glutes hence the big ass. Right? No homo.
Also you need to work on Chest, Tricep, Bicep, and forearm. With the Bicep and forearm part being least important.
It's not that your delts are big and your arms are normal, but more like your delts are normal and your arms are small.

Serp how often do you work your chest and what would a typical chest day for you look like?

There are exercises and stretches specifically for the lower back and spinal support muscles. Bridges come to mind. Maybe incorporate some of those exercises and stretches into your routine to try and strengthen your spines supporting musclez.
Edit: Another top reason for lower back pain....shortened and weak hip flexors. Stretch those bishes.

yeah they are growing slowly but surely, hitting broceps 1x a week directly and 2x extra indirectly! same with shoulders
2x a week, at the start of tuesday i do bench press 5x3, and on friday i do standing OHP 5x3
and then i choose from a variety of exercises, i think 8 sets maybe, my log book is in my car.
weighted dips 6-10 2
incline dumbbell bench press 6-10
flat dumbbell bench press 6-10
overhead dumbbell press 6-10
chest press machine 8-12
hammer strength thingy 8-12
incline press machine 8-12
dip machine 8-12
overhead press 6-10
close grip bench press 8-12
incline bench press 6-10
tricep cable press 8-12
tricep db kickback 8-12
i need to start doing bridges, i used to have moore sit on my lap and do weighted bridges but he started insisting we do them naked for more mobility...kinda weird.
I do need to stretch more, i am extremely flexible but need to still do it.There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?
