Indeed.
Still, take the time to check him out elsewhere. Incredible films. Guns of Navarone, Casino Royale, Wuthering Heights, My Man Godfrey, Enchantment, Please Don't Eat The Daisies, Around the World in 80 Days, etc., etc., etc. Way too many to even list.
Speaking of Wuthering Heights...seems like a good enough reason for Kate. Any reason is good enough reason for Kate. But at least there's a segue.

Doris Day is great. She is still with us as well. Have caught relatively recent interview clips of her on TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Love her film career, as well as her music.
Incidentally, turning back to David Niven. Something not everyone might know, David Niven served in the military in his country from, I believe, sometime around 1930 to 1933. He left and continued acting, however when the British declared war on Germany on Sept. 3, 1939, he left acting and reenlisted, seeking out among the most active/exciting unit possible. When his first assignments did not prove exciting enough, he was, upon his request, transferred into the British Commandos and even participated in the Invasion of Normandy (post D-Day). Ultimately, he was even presented with the Legion of Merit here in the US by President Eisenhower.
The man was a true class act, in every sense and facet of the word.

As a kid I never thought Dave Allen would get old and die. He was my favorite comedian and even though a bit risque, I was allowed to watch his TV show
(half the jokes flew over my head anyway)
Dave's take on Christmas 1986...enjoy
at the end of every show he would say "goodnight and may your God go with you" which I thought was pretty cool coming from a Roman CatholicLast edited by Joog; 12-19-2012 at 03:41 PM.

You know, Ssssss didn't really bother me that much either, but it did fcuk with me a bit...later, at night, as I tried to sleep. Actually, I watched it as a kid on KTVU 2 back home in SF. What probably saved me from getting more scared was the fact that the KTVU t.v. announcer would, going into/out of commercials, say, "We'll be right back with [or we now return to...] 'Ssssssssss'...," making the sound (as only one can do). I thought that was hilarious.
Trilogy of Terror on the hand never fazed me at all. I actually thought that doll was one of the funniest things I'd seen.
There was a movie called "Don't Go In The House" that definitely scared the sh*t out of me (outside of the T&A - which I watched it for at a friend's house).
Another one that got me was that window scene from "Salem's Lot."

Hitchcock was a fcuking genius, both in film and television. Appreciate him immensely now; as a kid, he scared me sometimes but my father was a huge Hitchcock fan so I had to endure it. Glad I did now.
Twilight Zone the Movie had its moments for me as well. As did, I believe, Creepshow - especially the roaches.
