This stuff is awful. Ive had it for 6 months and not even half way thorugh it. It gives me nothing but a burned taste in my mouth and a pounding headache.
Sound like that ghost bulk story from the misc. That might be my favorite misc stroy ever.★cVc★

I have my DNA sequenced showing I'm much more likely than average to have Celiac disease, and an existence proof by switching to a gluten free diet for a while and watching my itchy, runny eyes, sinus problems, and stomach problems disappear.
The inability of doctors to find a cause for something speaks only to the incompetence of doctors, nothing more.

That's ****ed up as far as the gluten goes. I'd be having terrible headaches and be moody and not know why
MSG though who the hell cares? Its practically benign but its the best tasting substance on earth. I have a bag that I cook with
When I go to a Vietnamese restaurant (for pho, not so much other stuff) if they don't put any MSG in I'll probably never go back771/645/622 Single Ply

props to the usapl national office. I was having an issue with submitting an online membership application and I emailed them. Very quickly I had an email from them, Priscilla, and a web/IT guy to get it resolved and a phone call shortly after that.

Anyone know if chiropractors actually do anything worthwhile or give you any good info at a free consultation? Or is it basically getting you in the door so they can get you to buy treatment? Got one scheduled for tomorrow just to see what they think and might pay for some A.R.T if I have the time.

I love my chiro with all my heart. Not one of those twist and crack types. More of a gentile adjustment, assessment of muscular imbalance, rehab exercise, tight muscle treatment (ART, massage, electrowork) and I pay hardly anything.
I do not like the twist and crack guys as there is much more wrong with my back than just bone alignment.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Depends on the chiro. I'd be more worried about what you think of them, not what they think of you. The only real proof is in the pudding with chiros. Find one whose stated purpose is to fix you and get you out of their office. Any chiro who wants to see you constantly is more interested in money than helping you.
All you can do is pay them, get treated, and see if it helps. If it doesn't, find a new chiro.

Some doctors are good at spitting back out what you said to them. So like I go in there for my free consult and they ask me what pain and aches I have and I say I get lower back soreness from being stupid in the gym. Then they do a couple of tests here and there and say, well it looks like you have tight lower back. Now pay us this money for this many treatments and we'll fix it for you. That would be pretty much a waste of my time.
Now if they told me a little more detail of what the issue is like bone, muscle, tendon, whatever and the process needed to fix it then I would think it's worthwhile. And then I could research stuff online or go to another chiro and see if they come up with the same issue and compare prices and see if it is something worth doing.
I've never been either, so I don't know how much of a salesman approach chiros take.1372 @ 205

People seem to think way too highly of medical professionals. 1/1000 chiropractors will be able to give you any detail of your problems. It took my fiance 3 years and 12 different doctors to find out she had a herniated disc moronic *******s were too stupid and lazy. brb hyperlordosis, brb degenerative disc disease. This includes 2 chiro's. Finally someone was willing to take an MRI (which took 3 trips and 8 weeks of PT before they'd even let her take an MRI) and they see a massive herniation. The exact thing we both suspected from day ****ing 1, doctors are almost always useless pieces of ****, the most pathetic standards of any profession on earth imo (medical doctors not researchers). Even worse than personal training

Lol, I don't have insurance right now. Company gave me a giant packet of different options I can pick for the new year but I haven't picked one to sign up yet. I'm pretty sure the Blue Cross/Blue Shield option covers quite a bit of the chiro cost. So depending on what info I get from this free consult, I can just wait till I sign up for my insurance to come back and actually get treatments.
Lol, tell us how you really feel. Most people seem to hate on chiros saying they just do a tweak or adjustment that makes you feel good for a couple days but doesn't provide a permanent solution so you go back to the pain. That is why I'm asking this stuff. Haven't met too many people that hate all medical doctors across the board. You are one special little boy.1372 @ 205

Finding a good chiro is difficult but can be done. My chiro is a strongman so he understands all the messed up crap I got going on. Might want to visit websites and ask around for a sports oriented one, who knows you might find a powerlifting chiropractor. ART is rough as hell but feels so good when you are done.

Yes. That's what chiros do. They work on recurring problems. a muscle strain, a skeletal misalignment, trigger points, etc. are not things you fix once and have them magically go away forever. They are part and parcel of what we do. And when they occur, we go to people skilled in their treatment: chiropractors. Good ones will talk to you, tell you what they're doing, and help you understand how to minimize the recurrence and self-treat before it gets to the point you need to see them again.
And by the way, I hate all medical doctors across the board. Blinkered, self-absorbed, self-important morons, to a one.

Apparently this guy is heading out this weekend for a marathon so atleast he does some kind of physical activity. I was first looking for a good massage place to get like a neuromuscular massage or something to break up tight fascia. Then it turned into looking for a chiro when I was bored at work today. Figure I can get a free consult from a chiro and see what issues I got, if any. I'm fairly certain the lower back pain is just from the spinal erectors being stretched and being put in a bad position at the bottom of the squat. But I've heard alot of people say that is possible to have a herniated disk and not even know about it or have any serious pain. And with the way I round when I squat/deadlift, that could be a possibility.

I have never had a good experience with a doctor. Before finding out I just had a weird epilepsy that manifests as headaches, a neurologist once said (and this was his only advice) and I am ****ing quoting for real. "Eat less, all that chewing is giving you headaches. I would kill myself if I looked like you" This same guy said he cleaned 315 for sets of 20 as a teen.
They're just the most arrogant and meaningless profession. Emergency room doctors/surgeons are cool, no hate there. When I had my bell's palsey episode they were all legit and I could tell good at their job. But the ****ers where you go in, wait ****ing forever, get told nothing every god damn time nomatter how well you prepare (I typically have 2-3 printed out sheets of key points and medical history relevant to what is bothering me, which they never even look at) then you get to pay a big ass copay every damn time.
What are some other gems
Oh, before the epilepsy was finally discovered (7 years after my 24/7 headache started and 4-5 doctor visits per year) ****ers were sure it was:
1- Allergies
2- My imagination
3- My weight
4- Chewing
5- Lifting and straining my neck muscles
6- Eating too much meat
7- Botched cauterization of my nose
They were all wrong, but who is accountable? Who gets in trouble for being wrong? NOBODY. A waitress ****s up the order she gets scolded, a doctor tells every patient the wrong thing and nothing happens to him.
Oh, and the cauterization of my nose that took an hour, gave me 4 hours of searing pain, and 3 weeks of a stuffy nose and promised to stop my little 13 year old self from having any more bloody noses for LIFE? Lasted 3 weeks, and now I have at least one a day (same as before)

Exactly.... Being "adjusted" (active stretching, massaging, rehab exercice, passive stretching) is a stress to your body and just like training everybody responds differently. No one can predict how many treatment will be needed as everyone is different. I wouldnt it's like a garagist that want to plan ahead "preventive work".
Edit: @ Torrtre: over here, as a nurse, we cant leave any space in our notes or else we get called back to the hospital. MD leave space all the time so they can add stuff later on to protect themselves if anything happen that they didnt see. They also use a lot of ambiguous abbreviation that are not legal just so they can invent stuff in court. If a nurse screw up, every single nurse put it down as a pariah. If a MD screws up, good luck finding one that wont back him up.
I dont blame them, they do it because they can and none will bring it up to them.Last edited by PanzeR-; 01-16-2013 at 01:38 PM.
