I know that both are going to run spring meets but no definite dates on either. BUT you know that over 95% of the lifters at BOTH are going to be raw ***s. I looked at the roster for this weekend's USPA meet and only 4 of 25 lifters are single ply (and two of those are high schoolers I know that are in champion suits.) It is what it is. You gotta go to the big meets for big time competition on the equipped side....I hate it as much as you do.
Do it for real ****er. Also no need to buy loose and tight like I said earlier. Just buy loose, get used to it, then alter the fukk out of it.

I have no problem with raw lifting, or even raw only federations. What I have a problem with is these ****ing crossfit gyms doing raw only USAPL meets. If you are going to do a raw only meet, have it sanctioned by ****ing 100% raw.
I promised Taps I'd do the USPA one but if USAPL is anywhere on the eastern half of the state and they are close to the same date I'll do that one771/645/622 Single Ply

What about if you take gear while in gear? Is that like practically being raw? I learned things cancel out in math

I'm going to a gun show saturday for an ar15 and a smith and wesson 629. But if they aren't sold out of all the good stuff, then I'll be so surprised.
I don't care.

1) The belief that all we do is just throw gear on and magically lift more, when that couldn't be further from the truth.
2) The superior, holier-than-thou attitude of many raw lifters. Which is often hypocritical since those same people wear wraps and a belt.
Almost makes me want to be an USAPL judge. "Nope, sorry. That squat broke parallel, but it wasn't deep enough, fast enough, and it looked like you struggled to get the lift. Red."Last edited by takeittakeit; 01-14-2013 at 04:20 PM.

I think geared lifting is cool, it adds another dimension to the sport. Lift raw for a few years, then throw gear on and suddenly not only are the lifts different but so is the training. I'm almost certain there's a big thrill aspect as well handling loads far greater then your capacity. I think its stupid to shun gear away from powerlifting, and find it funny that "100% RAW" feds even exist. I do think its dumb tho for people new to lifting to jump into gear just because a lift/thier total is stuck for a month.

gear is just fun. i like the technical aspect, i like the pressure, hell sometimes I like the pain. A good gangster knee wrap is awesome.
