Voted for Mrs. Autrey
It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

After waiting 9 whole weeks, my new PL belt finally arrived today. Got it from Bob's Belts. Truly impressed with the quality of this belt. Got a traditional single prong, black belt, 13mm. I've had an inzer forever belt, double prong, 13mm for over 2 years and this belt is already more broken in/softer than the inzer, and its fresh out of the box. Looking forward to using this bad boy real soon ..

don't hate me for this question...
okay for my meet in june, barring no bomb out, i could beat the men's open 242 deadlift and squat. i sit around 260-265 now... worth it or no? i know first comp shouldn't worry about weights, but just wanted an opinion based on the fact that i know i could hit the weights as long as no major injury or bombing out. i have hit the deadlift already and was 19 pounds under the squat without wraps (the record is classic raw, with wraps)
10 weeks and change to lose ~20 pounds, including water weight.

If you get to around 250 and then water load its probably possible.

it's feasible, and wouldn't be at a rate where i would inherently lose a ton of strength.. just wanted an idea if it's stupid or not to go for the records on my first meet.

I wouldn't say it is stupid, but keep the big picture in mind. You had a good test day/mock meet the other day, but don't expect that to be the same way you perform every time. Add in different factors along with the weight drop and you may be a bit off. First meet the goal should be to establish a total and get out of there still happy with the sport. If you can hit openers, make good lifts on seconds, no reason to not go for the record if it isn't too far of a stretch.

I dieted down for my first meet, lost about 12lbs total. I was up running around my snow-covered neighborhood in a sauna suit hours before weigh-ins. Why? I dunno. Maybe b/c a bunch of veteran PL friends were doing the same for the meet. I still enjoyed it.
My advice would be just roll into the meet as is. But I didn't even take my own advice .. so .. yeah ...Best Meet Lifts:

Thanks for the votes, guys. I'm gonna have to go bump the thread I made in the misc. That blonde chick w the big knockers is rolling in votes. Gonna be hard to to overtake her. They told my her it was supposed to be a head shot, so my wife did just that. Then these other ladies are showin some cleave or full body. Damn them.

Bax, I would diet down if it doesn't hurt your strength. Like judge said, get to 250, and that's be an easy water manipulation cut the rest of the way.

I'm going to start madcow's in a couple weeks, and I haven't really liked any of the spreadsheets or whatever that I've found for generating weeks and stuff(because I wanted to generate however many weeks I wanted, not a fixed amount), so I wrote my own PHP script to generate weeks. If anyone's interested, here it is:

I didn't want to start a new thread about this, so I figured this would be the best place to drop it. It's not quite finished yet, but I should have it finished pretty soon.

I started nutrition class. The teacher is a female figure competitor. Not only is she a monotone robot but she somehow manages to work in how alpha/hardcore dieting for figure comps is. Every other sentence..
