The itching is annoying for a few minutes. Honestly thus far the best combo was the blue lotion stuff with DMSO. Smells good, gets rid of the itch, and works wonders (still painful though).

I'm confused. I thought salt baths cause dehydration. Many fighters use them, in addition to other methods, to make weight if I'm not mistaken.

Besides icing any advice to deal with a bone bruise right over your knuckle of your hand that goes through to the other side? It's annoying I can't really grip anything.
Discretion of speech is more than eloquence, and to speak agreeably to him with whom we deal is more than to speak in good words, or in good order.

Not sure on that one. My buddy had a dead comp last weekend and decided to take epsom salt bath Thursday, came in Friday worried as fawk cuz he went from like 272 to 280 lol. This opens up a whole new world of new ways to cut weight though. For example, a few weeks out take an epsom salt bath a few times a week (which is actually recommended) and then take deionized water baths week of meet.
I wouldn't ice, aren't we all against that nowadays?
Basically, but it's not the traditional stuff.Best Meet Lifts:

Depending on the injury RICE or MICE. Most of the time MICE is now prefered.
Rest/Movement
Ice
Compression
Elevation
Compression is usually the most under used part of the methods and usually when done it's not done right. Those floss bands from rouge are awesome. I picked some up after Takeittakeit mentioned them.My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

MCE
inb4 it's presented by xfit so science doesn't matter.
To be honest though, jury is still out for me. Ice baths feel amazing sometimes. Then again I quit icing everything I used to ice and I have recovered much more quickly. Not sure about a bone bruise though.Best Meet Lifts:

I am personally all for icing injuries... And cupcakes.
It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

Compression?
For Example my back is a little strained from a bad pull on deads last night what Its not bad enough for a Chiro visit, but its more sore than normal. How would you handle that? I did some mobility work, foam rolled it and then iced it up, also took some ibuprofenThe Beast Journey to Elite

After watching the video I wish someone had asked about using ice to decrease the inflammatory response, they kept talking about our body being designed as a perfectly functioning healing machine but we aren't, we may have started out that way but we don't live that way. Alcohol, which they mentioned in the video as the only place to use ice, increases the inflammatory response as does vitamin and mineral deficient, most of the foods we eat also cause an increase in inflammation.
It's my contention that using ice in a controlled moderate way will still allow for an appropriate amount of inflammation so that healing can occur but will also allow for greater mobility and movement which as they said is the key to healing. Now if I had one of the stimulus units that guy sells or I had a masseuse near me at all times then sure, those might be better ways of managing that excess inflammation, sadly I don't.
It also bothered me that the expert was wearing two shirts, what doesn't he think his body knows how to regulate temperature? Does he think he knows better than his body that has evolved over millions of years? It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. So Conyer's all-time raw WR record got smashed by 62 lbs in April and no one noticed...
I haven't even seen any Russian sites that picked this up. I'm such a good PL detective.

lol'd at two shirts shortdave. I was hoping they would address topical antiinflams, specifically DMSO. My question there is, does DMSO work as an antiinflam, help remove scar tissue, or both. I mean it seems to work on my radial tunnel and tendinitis which are more chronic so I will continue to use it, but I would like to know why it is benefiting me.

See, that's another problem, chronic inflammation is is a signal that something is wrong but your body isn't able to fix it. In the case of tendinitis your tendons are constantly inflamed and the DMSO acts as an antiinflam which allows you to function normally until it wears off. If you aren't getting ART already I would highly recommend it.
