Im just going to say what we all are thinking... Anthony is going to be front squatting 275 for reps by the end of this month.
Quick question - what's the reasoning behind doing multiple single deadlifts as opposed to banging out a consistent set of 10 or 12? Do you just like to re-set after each rep, or is this a new training method your coach has you doing?

I am thinking this is to get ready for competition. I have seen before it is recommended for DLs to work in at singles and/or keep the reps very low. Curious though as to what Anthony's coach suggested

When doing sets of 10 or 12 form tends to break down. I like to keep my sets in the 3-5 range and then blast singles at the end.

The methodology behind pulling singles is that like Dbone said, you're only pulling for 1 rep on the platform come meet time. You're able to work on your set up with each pull, making sure everything is tight and exploding. The problem is when you start working for reps with the deadlift every rep is not the same and like Marsh said below, form tends to break down leading to possible lumbar injury which is common.
This is a quote from an Elitefts article on pulling only singles.
"You’ll notice that the later reps look nothing like the first. In competition, you only have to pull once, so you need to learn how to develop what’s known as starting strength for the deadlift. This is the strength that is needed to get the bar off the floor without an eccentric (negative) action before the start."

What's up guys. This morning's workout was my bench day. Let explain how Wade wanted me to approach this.
So Wade called for 3 sets x 3 singles.
Example would be....
190x 1, rack, rest 190x1, rack rest, 190x1 rack. This equals 1 set out of the 3. So it's 3 singles equals 1 set. I didn't expect singles to take so much out of me and I was unable to get all 3 sets across the board. I had to cut it short come the end of my second set at 205. I start to just wear out, my lower back was tighten up on me (sh!t is still tight right now) and I had a lot more work ahead of me. I cut it short on the 2nd set of 205 and just hit up two singles at 215. You'll see in the video the second single at 215, the bar speed just was slowing down.
Other then that the workout went strong and hit a PR in the push press. I'm telling you, this workout took a piece of my soul and it was left at the gym when I left.
Shot out to our German brother Kraut for the awesome song recommendation I saw in his thread a while back. Let's get to the workout and video.

That's an interesting approach to bench work. I typically just bang out reps with moderate weight in the 10-12 rep range, or go heavy in the 3-5 range. I've never done dedicated singles before, it probably lets you concentrate more on form, tension, and proper contraction.
BTW Anthony, I'm sending you an Arnold gift pack today. :0 I snagged you a Magnum shirt, a bunch of samples, XF ICE green apple, Protogen, Glycofuse, Aminolast, etc.

I just spoke to my coach and I guess I misunderstood what he said. It was suppose to be 3x3 not 3x3 singles lol.
Thanks a lot Sloop. How was the Arnold?

Arnold was a lot of fun. It was the most crowded Ive ever seen it in the 8 or 9 times Ive gone. Got to meet a lot of forum bros, grabbed a few samples, not too shabby.
What's up guys, today was my Squat day and things went good. For my close stance squats to mimic olympic squat shoes, I put 10lb plates under my heels and this definitely helped out A LOT. Let's get to the workout.
3/4/13
Squat day
Squat warm ups
45x3x3
95x2
135x2
185x1
Work sets
220x5x2
Close stance squats *Used a high bar position
135x12
175x8
155x12
Wide stance squats
100x2x10
Seated leg curls
160x3x12
Ab work
*Couldn't do calf work cause I have this weird muscle bruise on my front heal. It limits me from really putting pressure on my front hear, bending my toes comfortably and just walking regular in general.
Hope you guys had a good training day or recovery day.
Now today was my last day with IGF-2 and my last day with this log. I want to give a real big thanks to Sloop who offered me the opportunity to run this log with him. Sloop is like an older brother to me (save your tears my sweet prince) and definitely is one of the most supportive guys on this forum so thanks a lot Sloop.
I also want to thank Appnut for making some of the better supplements in the game and continuing to innovate and provide high quality products to us consumers.
The biggest thing I've seen with the pairing of Free Test & IGF-2 was endurance. I remember the beginning of my log I was running Madcow 5x5 and I just remember my endurance being at an all time high with this stack. I would want to keep lifting and MC consists of nothing but multiple compound lifts in one session, that tells you something about the increased endurance.
I did break some PRs through out my Madcow so strength was definitely attributed ever so slightly to this stack.
Sleep wise it was hit or miss. With IGF-2 I dosed it at 4 pills upon waking, 4 pills pre bed. Some nights I had some real deep sleep, other nights not so much. That's life though and you can't expect to get high quality sleep every night. I wouldn't say IGF-2 is the best sleep aid if that's what you're looking for but pair it with Free Test and endurance and strength could potentially increase.
Thanks again Sloop and Appnut a lot and look forward to nothing but great things and future success.
