Goal: Lose fat while maintaing (or increasing) muscle.
I am trying to optimize the timing, I understand that hitting macros is probably more important, but I already do, and want to take it a step further. Here is my idea, let me know if you see flaws.
Eat pre-workout (namely carbs+pro), lift or HIIT, eat post workout (namely CHO+pro), and try to keep it all within 8 hour window (or smallest window possible). Sort of what is done in Layne Norton's pre-contest article + IF.
Rationale (from my basic understanding of this stuff) is to train body to use more carbs during exercise, and more fat while not exercising. The longer I spend not lifting/HIITraining, the more total fat is "burned."
Anything seem off about this? Thanks dudes.

Thanks for your input. I understand that it won't make any significant difference, but it will make a slight difference nonetheless. And that slight difference is what I am after, as I already have the significant aspects covered. It doesn't really cost me anything extra, so I might as well do all I can to reach my goals, rather than just doing most of what I can.

If you want to get to the next level focus on the big things that matter and put all your effort towards that. Stressing over little details that won't matter will just hold you back, I know this from experience. Most of all be patient, it takes lots of hard work an time. You mentioned Layne, he prepped me this year for my shows, he himself will tell you there are no secrets.
Eric Helms and Alberto Nunez of 3DMJ have quite a bit of great info out there, they usually breaks things down pretty well, so check YouTube and their website for that.

Yessir, this is what I plan on. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something that would set me back, or if people have done this before and noticed anything I should know of. Also, I wanted to see if other people have been successful with the same logical approach, or if it makes sense in the first place.

Hmm interesting. The thing is, this is kindof the opposite of what I have been doing, so I figure at first it will yield negative results, but eventually as I adapt they will become positive. I have been training fasted for a long time now, and eating all my food afterwards. It has worked very well, but I want to explore more. Thanks, WonderPug.
