Depression after SLAP repair surgery (srs)

I had surgery in early October, and was in a sling for a month, and was only cleared to run starting like last week. Still won't be able to lift for another at least 2-3 months, for a total of 4-5 months... I usually live an active lifestyle, and I eat a lot, but now that I can't exercise, I've just been gaining weight (I know, my fault, but still) and starting to look like ****. Before the surgery, running 3-4 miles was easy peasy, but now I get mad sore and barely finish. Used to knock out 80-90 pushups without an issue, and now can't even get 10 without pain. I've been going to physical therapy often, and it just seems endless...

I'm required to do training stuff like log PT, endurance course, and obstacle course stuff with my classmates, but I'm unable to do it, which is depressing as fuark. Also, in PE class, I got an A in wrestling, then got my surgery, and was unable to do the 2nd half, boxing, and I'll have to make it up later, which sucks. I'll also miss a good chunk of the next semester of swimming, which will also suck to make up.

but did any of you have this surgery (or similar)? How are you doing now? What's different about post-surgery life in terms of lifting and fitness?
