Just hours after the Connecticut school shootings, Margie Phelps of the Westboro Church tweeted that "*** marriage" is to blame for the mass shooting and that alleged gunman Adam Lanza's mother, Nancy Lanza, "broke his moral compass."
On Friday afternoon, ABC's Josh Elliot tweeted that Connecticut is the "2nd-deadliest school shooting in US history."

Phelps replied with a hateful tweet, "One of first states to have *** marriage. #ConnectDots #PicketFunerals."
Phelps, known for her hateful messages during mass tragedies, went on to mock President Obama's speech about the shootings at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.
The Associated Press tweeted "@BarackObama says nation must take meaningful action after school shooting" to which Westboro Church member Phelps replied, "Yes. Stop marrying ***s & mourn for your sins."
President Beast @BarackObama! Stop the phony tears! You brought this mayhem! STOP MARRYING ***S! God is not joking! You've brought His wrath. - Margie Phelps, Westboro Church
Will the Westboro Church (WBC) picket the memorials of the young children and adults who died at the hands of a gunman in Connecticut?
Phelps' hashtag of #PicketFunerals seems to be a tip-off that the WBC will indeed try to picket the memorials, wakes and funerals of the victims of this national tragedy.
Who cares? God sent him.You breed violent God-mockers. #BloodOnUrHands MT @AP: Police still have no light on a motive for Conn.school attack. @MargieJPhelps Twitter
In July, a Reddit user gathered support to make a giant "wall of people" to stop WBC leader, Fred Phelps and his supporters from picketing the Aurora Memorial set up to honor those killed at the "Dark Knight Rises" premiere.
The same hate theme that is happening now in the wake of the Connecticut shootings was promoted by Margie Phelps, her father Fred Phelps and the handful of WBC supporters during the Aurora tragedy in July:
WBC gassing up vehicles for Colorado super-picket. #WorseOnTheWay #FearGodFools #GodCursesUForIdolatry #FaceOfGodsWrath #***srunmilitary - @WBCFredJr
The members of the Westboro Church protest everything that they consider evil, including gays in the military and those who go on mass killing sprees.
They spend their days sending out angry tweets that mock those who are suffering and ride around in vans picketing memorials and funerals.
While the members of the WBC are not worthy of any press with their hateful mockery, it is important to make people aware that the group may once again try to picket memorials that are supposed to be a time for families and friends to remember the victims of a national tragedy.
For the sake of the children, as well as the adults, who lost their lives in this tragedy, one can only hope that the Westboro Church hate group will stay away from Connecticut and leave those who are grieving alone.
