I had the same effect when I took my burmese python on a stroll. I didn't know that asians had an aversion (I guess???) to snakes, but when they saw me coming they'd cross the street. I went into an Asian corner store and they were backed up against the counter. Never did that again lol.

    Yes, ma'am. They are nice.

Adidas is the official Oly shoes provider for Olyers every four years. They come up with new design every four years, and this is the latest and greatest. The cool thing is that I expect the price to drop by next year by half. I still have my older Oly shoes designed for the 2008 Olympics, and I don't intend to get rid of them yet. Unless I win the lotto, then I will get me a pair of the red Adidas.

So one of the guys to whom I referred as having this particular shoe was in the gym yesterday. He was doing his oly lifting. OK well maybe he just started out because he had the 10's on either side of the bar. That's ALL he did. Now, I would think someone who was just really starting out in the sport would not truly need $300 shoes at this point, but hey if he has money to burn like that who am I to say lol. It seems like an awful lot to spend if maybe oly lifting is just a passing fancy.

Don't forget the war of 1812. The British occupied DC and burned the WH in 1814. (this is not meant to be a counterpoint)

You know if you look at the number of deaths by pitbulls versus the number of pitbull owners, I think you would find gun ownership to be quite a bit more safe. I know you were being rhetorical. I was just adding to your point. And I'm not arguing against pits here.

I was untatted at the time. Eek maybe it was me and not the snake lol. Anyway, don't they make medicine from snakes and such? I knew a family who would use frogs to make medicinal soup and stuff. I was always very careful when eating over there.

Antique shotgun puts former Marine behind bars in Mexico
Miami (CNN) -- For a war vet from South Florida, a leisurely road trip to a seaside vacation came to an abrupt end in Mexico, where he has languished behind bars for four months, sometimes chained to a bed.

For the first few months, Jon Hammar's parents kept his plight out of the public eye, fearing that media attention could bring harm to him in prison.

But now they are coming forward, hoping the publicity will push Mexican authorities to act.

Hammar, 27, is being held in the border town of Matamoros, just across from Brownsville, Texas.

Father: Mexican prison demanding money It is notorious as the home of the Gulf Cartel, one of Mexico's major drug trafficking organizations.

"The only reason they were going to stop was to get more gas," his father said.

Hammar, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Marine, was headed to Costa Rica in August to go surfing with a fellow veteran.

He had surfed there before and packed every good surf board he had, his parents said.

But he also took one item that quickly became troublesome: an antique shotgun handed down from his great-grandfather.

Doctor's family raped, killed in home invasion
A US doctor has recalled being attacked in his sleep while testifying at the trial for the murder and sexual assault of his wife and daughters.

Prominent Connecticut physician William Petit said he woke to discover his face covered in blood and two men standing over him with a gun, CNN reported.

Dr Petit was the sole survivor of an alleged home invasion in 2007 that saw his wife Jennifer Hawke-Petit, and daughters Hayley, 17 and Michaela, 11 killed.

Steven Hayes, 47, and Joshua Komisarjevsky, 30 are alleged to have tied up Dr Petit to a post in his basement, while they robbed and sexually assaulted his wife and youngest daughter before setting the home on fire.

Dr Petit described falling asleep on the couch of his home on a Sunday evening, before waking up at 3am during the attack.

"I remember I awoke in a daze thinking or feeling, ow, ow, ow," he testified.

"I heard one of them say, 'If he moves, put two bullets into him."

The next day his wife was allegedly driven to a bank by Hayes and forced to withdraw $20,000 in cash.

When she returned Hayes allegedly raped and strangled her.

The two intruders then allegedly poured petrol on or around the two girls, who were tied to their beds, before setting the house alight.

Attention whoring? LMAO!! We used to take the snake for rides in the car, to the park and all kinds of places. I would walk the snake and the dog at the same time. Guess what breed the dog was? go on - guess.

A bull terrier. He was a rescue, about 8 years old. One of the best dogs I've ever owned.

Dude I don't have a real issue with it my brother in law is from Mississippi and havs an arsenal and grew up with guns, just don't see the need is all. As to people like you and the NRA you guys are responsible gun owners and respect it. My point is its far to easy for the average dick head to get a gun. Look at this woman she had tons of guns and a nutso kid living in the house that's a time bomb. There has to be some measure or compramise that will at the very least make it far harder for this to happen. Keep your guns own them but at the least have some type of REAL checks before people but them.

And yes I'm ok and actually would welcome it if applied to dogs would be far less dog fighting and abuse or abandoned large breed dogs

See how that making assumption thing works DM? We've never really had any issues yet you show up to make an pot shot about owning big dogs and being a pussy. So maybe I can make the same all the wild hair color ink and snakes means your attention whoring or insecure and need some type of attention to make you feel better.

It cuts both ways when you take pot shots and make assumptions.

Right on, but think about this. All the checks in the world and that mother still would have passed so she would STILL have the guns. Also these pimply loner types are smart, I have no doubt in my mind that kid would have built a friggin bomb and blew something up or set fire to a building if he didn't have access to guns so there's no stopping him. There is, actually, ONE thing that WOULD have stopped him. If that VP who crawled in the office with a gunshot wound to the leg would have been armed then he would have had a chance to end it all before it got started.

I kind of agree whacos are gonna find a way and part of me says train and arm teachers, works well in Israel, but then that opens a whole new can of worms when a teacher looses it. Guess there isn't a great answer maybe armed gaurds at schools. **** we protect far less important things and people then our kids
