    Question Sporadic Weight Loss

Just started weighing in every day instead of once every 2 weeks. Im curious, does anyone else drop a couple pounds and then remain steady for 4 days? It seems like my weight loss comes in waves.

    Monday:172.4
    Tuesday: 170.4
    Wednesday: 169.8
    Thursday:170.4
    Today:170.2

1000 calorie deficit, same exact weigh in time, same sleep, same meals, same supplements, same amount of exercise... And yes I go to the bathroom before weigh in every time.

Fluctuations in water retention depend on several factors and will vary regardless. A 1 - 2 pound variations in bodyweight between days is not unusual.

As long as your downward trend is constant, I wouldn't worry about it.

Weight loss is non linear, it's the same for everybody. I just plateaued for 3 weeks then lost 9.5lbs in one week, that's more extreme than most but a good example of the non linear nature of weight loss.

You will probably find fat loss is consistent but I believe as fat is taken out of fat cells for energy it is sometimes replaced by water. Therefore weight will stay the same until the water leaves the fat cells, which will happen eventually.
    Highest weight: 280lbs

Plateau for 3 weeks? Is that a regular thing? My weight loss has been pretty slow. I think I plateaued for 2 weeks then saw a 2.5lb loss then again static weight for one week and then another 2.5 lb loss the following week. I wish i could speed up the process. Been doing everything right.

I wouldn't weigh yourself everyday, it can be (at times) discouraging. There are other variables other than fat loss. Anything you ate or drank is going to affect your weight day by day.

Good job on the current progress, but 1000 calories is quite a deficit, especially at 5'9 170. A lot of times when people set their deficit too low they end up binging.

    Good luck

It's probably more like 750 now that you mention that, I'm guessing my maintenance is around 2500 instead of 2850 when I started. I might need to readjust adjust my diet soon or just leave it so as I approached lower body fat % I preserve muscle.
