Asus is nice, but if you aren't looking for too many games which im sure you arent... you mentioned only half life 2 and stuff.. rofl that stuff can run on a 2 year old laptop with intel pentium 4 or something. rofl.
anyway.
the HP i listed is a nice overall computer.
Asus is def nice too.
Its your choice between asus and hp imho.NGU

asus. this one isnt so bad. it has a dedicated Video card to assure you gaming performance for higher end games like battelfield albeit not the best it will do great.

dont sleep with your computer then. lol. I still have a 10 year old HP laptop that still works like a charm. I use it for cracking and what not with a linux based OS now.. but still. My experience is that HP has had a solid performance. I guess i just got lucky.
the HP one i posted before has an integrated graphics card, so it will be slimmer, but performance will drop a little.
The Asus has a dedicated gfx so it's going to be a thicker/heavier laptop for sure i think. You can always look at the spex.
for sure though, the HP one is only like 4lbs. and thin as fk. The integrated graphics card will run diablo III no problem. Just lok at the specs and google it.
Be like Counter Strike Source on intel HD Graphics 4000 or whatever hl2 game u are playing. probably pro mod or global offensive. But still.NGU

Macbooks are amazing for WORK.
if you do music. you do movies you do WORK and not much games...
macbook would be for you...
thats why they have all dem professional companies using a mac...
the Mac OS is kind of like Linux. It's a low cost running OS which leaves more power and memory for running other apps.
Windows is filled with addons to make it user friendly.
It's all about what you want though.
I prefer my Windows and my Linux over windows. Mac comes last. Hell ill buy a mac if it comes to the point where im making videos on the daily.NGU

Get a macbook pro 13inch when there is some sale.. I got my airbook 2 years ago and never failed me, it still runs like new and has never crashed on me in past 2 years. The only people which say macbooks are waste of money are the people which never had one, i bet you won't go back to normal laptops after you get your first macbook..

Op your best bet is to look at ultrabooks. They are thin, light come with a good processor and usually have a ssd. Some have a graphics card. If you want a macbook you could pirate OS X and have it for half the price. Do some research on companies before you buy and read lots of reviews from reliable sources.
Good luckLast edited by wereireland; 12-14-2012 at 11:26 AM.
