Now there is a reason for the 1/4 = I am bolting it down and the countersink head requires some depth.

I'm working on the second set of hook now and might cut the UHMW today or tomorrow and post a how too then. I did learn a little from the first set and the second set will be slightly different. Just some small changes.

I discovered the the GPR378 uprights are somewhat warped. The NYB had exactly 3" of clearance, and while they slipped on without a problem in some places, they generally didn't fit. It was weird. I'd have to slam them in place with the palm of my hand on one spot and practically need a hammer to get them off, but if I moved up three holes they would slip right on.

Yes Body solid punches the holes, so it distorts the metal. I used spacers on the jig to make the area just a hair bigger than 3". There are tight spots and slightly looser spots, but they just slide on.

Can you please post the source and item no of that UHMW as well as what kind of glue you used on them.

Sure, I provided more detail over in BAVE's thread this morning. The SKU # of the UHMW was 517355, although I would have gone for a thinner version if I had to do it again.

Edit: Don posted links to the actual UHMW product a few posts above. If you want to screw it down, I'd go for the 1/4", but if you want to use adhesive tape, I'd probably pick 1/8". My sheet was slightly warped when I got it, so I had to spend a little effort trying to flatten the entire thing. You don't have to use heat--I found that bending the plastic in the opposite direction seemed to work even when cold.

Second set of hooks done. I didn't get to the UHMW today. Had a some people drop by mid day.

Marking holes in the UHMW with a white paint pen because some dope got the holes slightly offset from center. It was cut with a saw the razor knife is for deburring the edges.

I will take off the plastic and give it a coat of black later.
