Arrow Please help with mass gain question

Hello I am Eighteen turning nineteen on March 7th. I am an ectomorph so I know that eating more calories will be the #1 thing to make muscle mass growth possible.

however, I have a question about building muscle mass.

Okay I plan on buying a months worth of a product called Serious Mass, and then Going on the 20 rep Squat routine and busting my ass off for a month.

I will be eating 4000+ calories a day. And I will not be doing any cardio, just my 20 rep squat routine, and resting.

I am wondering if I gain lets say, 10lbs in that month, and I stop eating 4000+ calories a day and eat my normal 2000-2500 will I lose all the muscle mass that I gained?

Or would I need to starve myself in order for that to happen?

I would still be working out 5 days a week at a high intensity, I would just be eating a lot less then I was eating during my muscle mass building phase.

Please let me know, if you give me the right answer it would be very much appreciated. By the way, I am 5'10-5'11 and weigh 140lbs desperate to gain mass.

If you were desperate to gain mass you would give it more then a month to happen!

10lbs in a month would be mostly fat, so yes you would lose most of it once you cut calories down. As far as losing muscle mass, if you were still focusing on the exercises that helped you build the little muscle that you did gain in that month you would likely hang on to it with your height/weight. But it doesn't sound like you plan on sticking to a solid proven routine once you cut calories, so I would be suprised if you hung on to the muscle mass.

A better plan is to jump on a proven plan and eat 3000cal a day till your bodyfat gets too high or you quit gaining weight. If bodyfat gets to high cut cals for a couple/few months, if you stall on weight gain start eating 3500cals a day.

You do NOT need any mass or muscle gainers, a half decent lifting routine coupled with a calorific surplus and 125+ g protein per day should do the job. It really is that simple, I had a tough time believing this an year ago when I was 128 lbs at 5' 10"

Packing on 35+ lbs hasn't been easy but not as tough as I thought it would be

I personally think starting with gainers will be detrimental for beginners, the first 1.5 - 2 years is where we need to make changes to our eating habits to see sustainable progress over the long run. Gainers have their place but only when you get to a stage where eating any more solid food is gonna be very very tough

When you bulk on solid food and get your eating habits right, you can let go of the fear that you may lose the gains
