If we are in a simulation I wish my designer had given me a bigger dink

Evolution does not push anything towards a final goal. I wish life was like x-men but it isn't.
Anything that's alive now can be considered the final product of billions of years of evolution. The only reason we think we are the special species is because we've evolved to live egocentrically, just as pretty much everything else has.

Cool stuff.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

I've considered that argument and meant to address it in my previous post.
What about everything else, that our best instruments cannot pick up? We r always getting better and better instruments and finding new things, it's never ending- our instruments only get us so far - nom sayin ?**Uses feminism to his advantage crew**

what if we are a virtual simulation/reality from the future
Someone just created the virtual world and "logs in" is playing in it right now, so our creator is in the same universe as us and multiverse is other ppls virtual simulations
just like in our future, i can see virtual reality games becoming so real the user joins the world and feels like real life

We know of only 4 fundamental forces. There could be 50 of them, but 46 are so weak that they will remain undetectable indefinitely.
Science is only concerned with things that can be verified in some way. Say we somehow create a perfect grand unified theory that explains everything in this universe except those 46 other forces. Does that make our theory incomplete?

lmao, could you imagine if this was true and what the "programmers" are thinking when the scientist said that.

Look at all of us talking/typing, having our OWN individual thoughts which we can change and differs from everyone else's.
There's no such thing as this bs programmer, we are our own selves.

Can someone please explain the significance of this to me in layman's terms?
I've taken my fair share of science courses, but I don't have a clue what the big deal about this is. Isn't it purely a philosophical thought experiment at this point?
How does detecting patterns prove anything about whether or not we are living a simulation? Could those patterns exist in a simulation? Yes. Could they exist in a non-simulation? Yes.
What I'm saying is, I understand the concept of living a simulation. I understand why this would be interesting and useful to find out. What I don't understand is how merely pointing out the possibility of a simulation qualifies as some grand scientific discovery.
That's like me saying that we are all robots, and then saying that the way our brains process information is proof of this. It could be true, but it's in no way proof.hard work pays off
