Who out there uses Myfitnesspal?
Hello all!! Curious to see how many of us use myfitnesspal and if anyone is interested in swapping usernames to get a little more support from everyone here by adding each other as friends. I thought it may also be useful to show those whom are hesitant to increase thier calorie consumption to see what some of us eat so they realize it's not such a scary thing. You need to eat to grow and look better after all! So my username on the site is same as here:
Rebeckyt

I'm on there as well, it'd be nice to check out some other diaries and see what others who are lifting eat. I don't have too many friends on there that lift.

I am surprised that MFP gave me 1200 calories per day ( inc 30 mins excercise 6 days pw) to lose 5kg when my TDEE is 2171.
Thats pretty low, does anyone agree? I eat that by lunch time!
At the moment macos etc are still a little confusing to me.
Cheers,
Mel x

[x]cutting [ ] bulking
I started out almost 2 years ago tracking on MFP but have since quit logging my food. I pretty much eat the same stuff all the time anyway and I just got tired of doing it. I will start back up again when I start my cut. I do still keep a blog there that I post on regularly though.... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/stephanielynn76

I agree the values it recommends are much too low. I ignore the recommendations and added in my own calorie level and macros. I also changed the number of meals and meal names to suit my day.

I'm trying to stick to 1400-1600 cals, and I'm trying to lose fat. Basically I want to lose weight (fat) and become smaller. I also want to get more definition in my body and firm up - my mummy belly is a big problem area.

Thanks : ) Yeah i have mine set at 1800 now which is more achievable, not taking exercise into account which is maybe around 200 on average...

Mrs Unga
My username is MrsDaKine. My family (husband and 3 of our kids) started working out in June after a 7 year hiatus of all physical activity. Eating healthy has been my enemy. I am legitimately addicted to M&M's. I would eat a 10 lb bag a day if I wasn't so embarrassed for having an addiction. So this app helps expand my menu and keep track of macros.
Definite encouragement needed!

auto calories are 1200 on myfitnesspal but there is a customizable option. You can use the stickies in the nutrition section to figure out your calories/macros for your goals (weightloss vs. muscle building)
I'm LaDonnaF on there!

I just started using it, I'd add you all, but I don't want to be held accountable for what I eat
I have a question though, for the girls who have been tracking their food for a long time. If you take a fish oil or a flax oil supplement, do you log that as well? I haven't, mainly because I'm lazy, but I've been thinking about it for the past couple of days.
