    Which bench should I keep?

I got 2 benches on a lot from craigslist.

1 is a Weider 800 Pro in 9/10 condition, the other is a MPEX Powerhouse Club 1900 in 7/10 condition.

I'd like to sell 1 of them, both seem pretty good quality, what do you guys think?

You're right, they're both pretty sweet. Personally, I'd keep the MPEX Powerhouse Club 1900. It looks a little nicer and it has that rockin' curl pad thingy.

Keep that beast and flip the other one for profit!

This is a trick question, right?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Indeed..... the squat rack is getting in the way since I'm not doing legs till March..... was thinking of just putting a powerhouse bench in there to save space.

I'll probably have some difficulties selling my rack though.

haha. And and the trend continues that Weider sucks. Ive been a lurker of this site for 2 years, first couple of times posting. For just starting lifting less than a year ago the Weider brand was just so prevalent in my local CL and has held up decent. Im trying to get more quality equipment in my basement, and it all depends on what gets posted in my area (eastern Iowa).

So I guess I will throw the Weider 800 on CL and see what happens. Its pretty much brand new, got it from some kid's parents that are selling his stuff because he dropped out of college with a lil over 200 lbs in Weider (I know) hammer tone oly plates.

You missed out on a ton of great equipment. Iowa State must have recently replaced all of their equipment. The old stuff was sold off in the last two months. I have never seen that much gear sold at one time before.

Yup saw all the stuff from ames. I couldnt catch anything because of timing issues with borrowing a truck/being in town/etc.

If you are serious and want some decent stuff on CL, let us know your travel area, what you're looking for ( a bench and rack would be your best choice), and how much you have to spend. Someone here will probably be able to find you a few deals. Good luck.

Cool, I appreciate it. Around 500 dollars for the budget. Nice bench and rack would be ideal, only willing to drive up to around an hour around Iowa City. Believe me, I know craigslist. I have been buying and selling electronics, iphones, tvs, furniture etc on there for a long time. Any tips would be appreciated though!

I lived in Iowa City for a couple of years. I didn't know about it at the time, but there's a "discount fitness warehouse" in Jesup, IA... called Jesup Gym, which might be worth checking out. Craigslist is probably your best bet though.

    Jesup Gym!
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

For new equipment, I also recommend Jesup, as I've oedered stuff from them and they are great to deal with. Hope some others will be able to step up and help you out a little on the used stuff. Good luck.
