The name wii u is too similar secondly they did a terrible job showcasing the benefits of developing on wii u and thirdly they should have never had the 8gb unit and sold it for 300 for 32 gb from the get go. I don't think Xbone and Ps4 are its worst competitors, smartphones and tablets are. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft will all have to fight as hardware manufacturers to survive against them.
More people should play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate BTW. One of the best games I've ever sunked my teeth into, regardless of platform.

Is the Wii U worth getting over the older Wii? I understand that the Wii U would have better graphics and play Wii games as well but I'm not sure how I feel about the gamepad (help or hindrance). On the other hand the Wii is about $150-200 cheaper.
Honestly, I'm a PC guy and the last console I owned was a Super Nintendo. I want something that my son (5 1/2) and I can play with/against each other. He's a mario/luigi fan and likes racing type games.☠USN☠
