Are these forums elitist?
Twice in the last few years, I have posted topics on this Site, and not gotten a single response. What gives?

What are the questions? A lot of threads get overlooked because the OP could have just ran a quick search and found everything. Or the threads are just too vague to have any kind of meaningful discussion.

Did your questions have anything to do with how to get a 6 pack?

This...the site has been around over 10 years now. Almost every question has been asked 10,000x times so people just don't even acknowledge some threads rather than a few years back they would make fun of people telling them to use the search function. If your thread was a "How does my split look?" or "how do I lose body fat?" ...that's probably the reason. Also could be as simple as it needed to be bumped because no one who would bother to answer even saw the thread while it was open...and NOBODY wants to read a wall of text, so that will just get ignored most the time.

2010 - 285 LBS & 33% BF (N/A)
2011 - 235 LBS & 23% BF (Bench 95 lbs, AtG Front Squat 95 lbs, Deadlift 135 lbs)
2012 - 204 LBS & 14% BF (Bench 205 lbs, AtG Front Squat 185 lbs, Deadlift 225 lbs)
2013 - 210 LBS & 11% BF (Bench 305 lbs, AtG Front Squat 295 lbs, Deadlift 425 lbs)

Objective optimist
well, for example, your last question about calves (jut had a look at your post history) was one inmense wall of text, people would click the thread and leave. Make threads sort and to the point, it takes time to get through the information...
The others, I don't know, a bit of vague questions about workouts and what not.

Lift heavy, and take a good multi. And get at least 1.1 grams of protein per pound of lean body weight.
Good luck with your anti-elitist goals for 2013.

Looking for advice on my routine.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=2891171
Really isn't even a question, nor did you post a routine.
Calves are feeling "worked" more easily lately.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...#post983252293
Extremely confusing question that not many people would have much experience with.
Advice with all-comound workout.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...#post162176761
Very simple question that could have been answered easily, but I don't know what the boards were like in 2008.

If you have a specific question, ask it. I'm a fairly long winded poster simply because I know some people can interpret 1 word answers or sarcasm over text and others can't. I don't get paid for advice (nor should I) so answering a few question every few days on these forums can take some time but generally I enjoy it. If someone titles a post check my routine, most people avoid it as the answers are already in the sticky threads at the top of each forum or the question is so long/vague that if i honestly don't know what's being asked I'll move on to the next tab rather then proof reading a wall of text to simply have to ask a few very specific questions.
That first post concerning you thinking of changing your routine around a bit read almost as if you were just thinking out loud, when it seemed you wanted a bit of advice concerning back exercises. If you had said something along the lines of "What are some of your go to exercises for back training?" You would ahve had a long list of replies.
Basically if you have a question about your routine, ask that question without writing an essay. You will know soon enough if people need more information to answer it, as normally the first thing posted to a very vague question is what is your training history/current stats/workout/diet.

I'm looking for my abs...
I just bumped your post from 2007, you have an answer now. Admittedly I didn't realize it was five years old when I was answering, but beggars can't be choosers, right?
Honestly, Should this website NOT be at least a little Elitist? I mean, it is Bodybuilding.com so I can see people not wanting to answer questions that have nothing to do with Body building...it's a pretty elite sport.
Go do P90X dude, you'll really dig Tony Horton and he's all about not getting "too big".
Do or do not. There is no try.
Fresh log, fresh start.

WoW, see whining does work.
ITT, the OP gets more attention than all his previous threads together.
This is post 24 and counting.
Too bad, it has nothing to do with exercises.

The BACKMAN
Luckily, the exercise section has deteriorated at a slower pace compared to other sections. I rarely venture out of here nowadays.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

This forum is deffinitely not elitist.
It is hard to get banned from, and the forum itself probably interferes the least with the free flow of information of every forum I have been a member of.

I guess it depends on what you consider elitist though. Having your issues thoroughly explained to you by several posters, along with attempting to answer your previous questions, and then adding a jab or two in, qualifies as elitist to the OP.
As someone who started knowing nothing at all, it really shows you the "lengths" some people are willing to go to get thier training questions answered " Don't give me the answers I want to hear, you guys are elitists, I'll use google and won't even be directed right back here."

Your questions were very vague, and buried in a wall of text.
Posters replying to threads on this site do so on their own time and with no compensation other than the desire to help those who have already attempted to help themselves by first using the 'search' function.
Have at least some respect for the time of others. If you expect posters to wade though a 5000 word treatise that has little or no point, and has obviously been preceded by no effort on your own part to obtain answers, this is probably the wrong venue for you.
No brain, no gain.
