op stay strong brah...
But I have to take advantage of your honesty. I'm graduating in Dec (college) and was thinking about joining and going to ocs.
-should i do it? or stay civilian? why/or why not?
-won't military experience help with gov jobs when i'm done?
- you mention the war is done. Hows the feeling among the vets about new people joining up now?

I know this sounds crazy OP, but once you get out and are in college full time, you will miss it a little. I couldn't wait to get out. For me it was the deployments, actually thinking of going into the reserves just to deploy again.
Also another thing I miss is the comradary. I have to filter what comes out of my mouth talking to other college kids, I offend people so easy.★cVc★

This pretty much sums up my experience in the Air Force. Lots of dirt bags and big talkers, inflated egos and complete morons that you have to constantly trip over and pick up slack for because they're incompetent. Constantly showing up in my blues at a random location because 1 person out of 4 flights fukked up. Sitting there getting grilled by the Captain at 3:00 a.m. after a 14 hour shift with only 3 hours before I had to get up again for another 14 hour day.
Total garbage experience.

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes." -- by retired United States Marine Corps Major General and two time Medal of Honor recipient Smedley D. Butler
Stay strong OP, I can imagine how terrible it is.“To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.” ― Alan Watts
