lolz. now that i have your attention. just a simple question.
if the government made some kind of personal device that would generates a force field around you, preventing you from harm by the even the most powerful guns (used against you by criminals) and any other blunt object weapons, would you be okay with trading away your guns for this device. take note, there is no deception involved. i don't want to hear responses about how you think it would just be a government trick. just accept the hypothetical situation as a genuine tradeoff.
now, in order to receive this device, you must not have been in prison for serious crimes like rape, murder, etc. this will prevent most criminals from getting the device. the government will also supply you with a taser to take down criminals who do not have the device and break into your home.
so i ask, would you be willing to trade your guns at that point? it seems a lot of you morons actually have attachments to the object itself, when its sole purpose is to obliterate whatever is directly in front of it. why would any compassionate human being want such destructive power in their hand if they are guaranteed safety by the force-field device?
so the question for the last time is, would you trade your guns if you could get this kind of protection from criminals?

Our deepest fear is not that we are green. Our deepest fear is that we are red beyond measure. It is our red, not our green that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking to green so that other people won't feel insecure around you. And as we let our own red shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our red presence automatically liberates others.

Hell no, guns aren't just great protection, they're fun as hell to shoot. In addition, they're a great investment and they're such beautiful pieces of machinery.
