Any German - WW1 type history buffs?
So my wife's grandma passed away recently, and my wife (whose mother passed away years ago) inherited pretty much everything..
We finally got around to going through a bunch of the boxes and I've found like 4 huge boxes full of really cool old stuff, mostly in German.
Someone in the family was obviously in WW1 as there is numerous books, all in German, about different WW1 battles..
1 old book is awesome, and gruesome, it's 500 pages, all pictures with small captions (in german) showing WW1 battlefield photos. Corpses and body parts everywhere, men throwing grenades, men having been hung, some caught in barbwire etc.etc..
The copyright is the only thing I can read, it says 1927..
I googled the name of the book but can't find a match anywhere... If anyone knows an online place I could do some research on it I would appreciate it..
Also, there is an official program from the 1904 Worlds fair, the program is about the Angl0 - boar war.. And there is numerous other items associated with that fair and that war..
I honestly am not trying to sell the stuff, but the history to her family and the items is lost, we have no idea who the person-s were so I'm thinking of finding some type of group or collectors and donate it all..
It's insane, there are litterally hundreds of items.. Like the menu from the ship they immigrated from Germany on..Just insane..

Go to a museum, these sound like unique treasures and they have the resources to find their origins.
Stuff like this needs to be shared with the world.

He who lets the world, or his own portion of it, choose his plan of life for him, has no need of any other faculty than the ape-like one of imitation. He who chooses his plan for himself, employs all his faculties. He must use observation to see, reasoning and judgment to foresee, activity to gather materials for decision, discrimination to decide, and when he has decided, firmness and self-control to hold to his deliberate decision.

Can you shoot some pictures of it and post it up (or PM me)?

On German Soil? Soil as in farming soil?
Anyway, that's a really cool collection. I'm jealous. Take good care of it.

Hehe.. Using the google translator now..
That book of all the war photos is awesome. I'm typing the photo captions into the translator..
There's a ravine in one seen where hundreds of men and horses are laying in..
The caption reads "Our brave warriors fought the cowardly Italian army so viciously, they ran in retreat into a ravine where they fell to their death"
