TK's Supp Corner: Force Factor's BRX PreWO Log!
-
12-08-2012, 07:05 PM #2
History: I've been on and off with the gym due to my health condition... I have severe asthma, yes it SUCKS! Anyways I've been training with a buddy lately and have been pretty consistent training 6 days a week for the past 2 months. Now, with my asthma, it's hard for me to pick out a solid preWO and get a good workout in. Some has high stims which push me overboard and I start to weeze at the gym, then there are some that aren't enough stims to get the heart beating hard enough to get a good workout, and so onnn....
Well today this changes because my tub of Force Factor's BRX came in the mail!!! Just in time too as today was my day to build them wheels!

PreWO: 2 scoops BRX
Intra: None... Just water
After workout thoughts: At first I didn't really feel like anything was happening... Usually with most other preWO, I would get that "feel" while sipping and driving to the gym. After my fourth set of squats, I started to feel SOMETHING; I'm not sure if it was the BRX or if it was the fact that my core was already beat up by training backs a couple days prior. However, after squats period, my quads and hams felt like they've been pumped up with air. That's when I knew it was the BRX! Fast forward to calves... OMG THEY ARE STILL PUFFY RIGHT NOW (about and hour after workout).
Overall: I felt like BRX helped keep my head in the game even though I had strong DOMs from previous workouts. Usually that would break my focus and I'd just be sloppy with all my lifts. As for endurance, I felt like I had plenty of energy to spare towards the end of my workouts. Pumps felt good, blood filled muscles nicely, and overall had a 8/10 workout today. Can't wait for tomorrow's chest workout!

PreWO: 2 1/2 scoops BRX
Intra: Gaspari Aminolast
After workout thoughts: So I've decided to slowly increase the dosage of BRX and went with 2 1/2 scoops today. As like yesterday, I didn't feel the rush of stims (which is good and bad in my book... I like it because it doesn't react too harshly with my asthma, but then I don't like it because I didn't "feel" like I had that exciting heart racing beats). However throughout the workout, I've noticed one thing that I've noticed yesterday, the FOCUS. Yup, my head was into the workout and I didn't break focus once! Good job BRX!
Overall: I felt like I had a good workout; stayed focused throughout the whole session and the energy was there even to the very end (well, not very end... the superset kind of killed me lol). Anyways this was considered a "heavy" day for me and the routine today was pretty basic. Honestly I think the BRX helped out a lot today as I TRAINED FASTED TODAY :P Pumps felt good, blood filled muscles nicely, and overall had a 9/10 workout today.

After workout thoughts: Wow so 3 scoops is the sweet spot! Not much to say here, except I walked into the gym planning on going hard, and hard I went! I know the numbers and stuff isn't as high as most people can move, however my intensity was through the roof! My heart was actually racing, not too much and not too little, just right where I want it.
Overall: I felt like I had a really good workout; almost immediately after my pullups, I felt the blood filling up my lats. The whole night my lats were super pumped and my forearms the same. Pumps felt good, blood filled muscles nicely, and overall had a really good 9/10 workout today.
Bad at posing lol

After workout thoughts: Today was initially my rest day (my only rest day lol), however for the past couple of weeks now I've been doing cardio and abs on these days. Well, I need to bring up my legs, and today was the only day I felt that I could hit them again before Friday (which is my next leg day). I decided to primarily hit quads since I need more of that outter sweep so you can tell by my exercises that a lot of them are narrow stance, etc...
Overall: Anyways, I felt pretty good today... However being that it WAS supposed to be my rest day, I ate more of a calorie deficit and didn't feel too strong in the gym, but good ol' BRX came in handy! I managed to stay focused and power through my workout; right now my quads are J U I C Y ! Too bad I didn't have an intra today, maybe I could've actually completed the 10x10 on squats. Overall, the pumps felt good, blood filled muscles nicely, and overall had a 8/10 workout today.

PreWO: 3 scoops BRX
Intra: ProSupps Aminolinx
After workout thoughts: Holy crap, I just had one of the craziest high volume workouts ever! What made it even better was when the BRX kicked in while I was doing the military press... omGzzzz! However, I didn't do too well on the military press since I'm not used to the Smith machine; my grip was horrible. Nonetheless, I still had a good workout afterwards!
Overall: I felt STRONG & INVINCIBLE! After my mind snapped into workout mode, I stayed focused throughout the whole workout which is a BIG PLUS in my book. I think my body is starting to adjust to the BRX and is really getting the most out of it. The pumps were AWESOME, the blood filled my delts out nicely, and overall had a 10/10 workout today.

PreWO: 3 scoops BRX
Intra: ProSupps Aminolinx
After workout thoughts: Pump for D A Y S ! Horry chit my biceps were hit HARD and when I mean hard, I mean I feel like I have two fat rocks sitting under my skin lol. Half way through the workout I was pretty blah since I had a longgg day at work and I didn't meet my desired calorie intake. However after I got passed all the "heavy" stuff, it was smooooth sailing! I would say that's when the BRX kept me going and lasting to the very end of the workout.
Overall: I didn't really get that great of a workout as I'd expected, however it could've been a number of things (mainly lack of food - I ran out of food I keep at work ) BUT, nonetheless, BRX came through and pushed me through my workout. The pumps were intense, the blood filled my arms nicely, and overall had a 7/10 workout today.

After workout thoughts: Was a LONGGG day today... However I had a GREAT workout! If you've read some of my previous workouts prior to this, you'll know that I JUST hit legs (hypertrophy) on Tuesday. Even with DOMs, I still came in and beasted through all of the workouts (except lunges... the standing lunges were new to me lol). I was suprised in myself since I got only about 4 hours of sleep, worked from 7-12, attended my work's Christmas party, BOWLED for like 5 straight hours, ate nothing but chicken wings (and some pizza and salad here and there lol), even mistakenly drank a Sprite and 28oz of beer! LOLOLOLOLOL... anyways, I would say the BRX came through for me today!
Overall: I had a really good workout... I went in there and felt STRONG, and I didn't let my ego get in the way and tried to move weight that would put me in sloppy form either. I actually stuck with the weight I knew I could handle with damn near perfect form, and raised the bar just one notch higher allowing me to achieve that desired "great workout." The pumps were awesome, the blood filled my quads and hams up like a balloon, and overall had a 10/10 workout today.
